About me

I am a clinical hypnotherapist with a PhD and MSc in Neuroscience, and a background in psychology. I offer a bespoke practice, with each session individually tailored, and my neuroscience background informs everything from the techniques I use, to the way I understand what's keeping someone stuck.

I work with a range of issues including; anxiety, low confidence, stress, imposter syndrome, public speaking and the underlying causes of recurring patterns of thinking or behaviour that feel hard to shift.

Each session draws on current research into how the brain forms and changes patterns over time. Depending on what you bring, I may draw on cognitive hypnotherapy, suggestion hypnotherapy, regression, inner child work, or analytical approaches, combined with EMDR and somatic work, where appropriate. The work is always tailored to the individual and grounded in evidence, not guesswork.

Sessions are online, 50-60 minutes, and available to clients across the UK. If you'd like to talk through whether this might be a good fit, I offer a free 15-minute introductory call - no pressure, no obligation.

Here are some words from previous clients:

"Suzanne helped me during a period of high stress and anxiety. I immediately felt safe and supported, and she made it easy for me to open up. I felt calmer and more able to handle the changes I was going through." — R.

"I came to Suzanne wanting to feel more confident and comfortable being seen — in meetings, in my personal life, in owning my own voice. Under her gentle guidance I felt like a weight had been lifted. I learned to trust myself and lean into my strengths. I still feel like me — just a less hesitant version." — C.C.

"I came to Suzanne feeling stuck in a cycle of self-doubt and negative thinking. Somewhere within the session something quietly shifted. My thinking around my own self-worth feels a little different now." — Natalia

"Hypnotherapy with Suzanne was such a grounding experience. She offers a unique space where you feel truly seen, heard, and cared for." — O

"My session with Suzanne in preparation for labour was just magical. The relaxation and calmness I felt during and afterwards was exactly what I needed. The effects of this calmness carried over to the next day and to when the labour started two days later." — L.

Training, qualifications & experience

  • PhD in Neuroscience
  • MSc in Neuroscience (in Neuroimaging)
  • BA in Psychology
  • Level 4 Diploma in Hypnotherapy, including training in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), and additional certification in Hypno EMDR
  • Foundation Course in Individual & Couple Counselling and Psychotherapy (Tavistock and Portman NHS Foundation Trust)

My academic background was always in understanding how the brain works - how patterns form, why they persist, and what it takes for them to change. Hypnotherapy, and specifically the integration of Hypno-EMDR, felt like a natural extension of that: working directly with the processes that underpin the patterns, rather than just the patterns themselves. I am currently training in psychotherapy and maintain ongoing supervision to ensure my practice remains both ethical and evidence-informed.

The General Hypnotherapy Register (GHR)

Hypnotherapists may become members of the General Hypnotherapy Register if they satisfy certain criteria with regard to both training and ongoing requirements as determined from time to time by the General Hypnotherapy Standards Council (GHSC). Members are either registered at Practitioner status (which confirms that the GHR acknowledges their qualification to practice), or Affiliate status. Although Affiliate level registrants will have completed a sufficient number of training hours to equip them to commence seeing clients on a limited basis, the GHR does not acknowledge them to have yet been trained to full practitioner level. All GHR Registered Practitioners are required to accept the published Code of Ethics and Complaints & Disciplinary Procedure.

Information about health conditions (*)

Hypnotherapy can enhance the well-being of individuals diagnosed with serious medical conditions, but should not take the place of medical treatment and advice. If you have been diagnosed with - or suspect you may have - any of these conditions, please speak to your doctor before starting hypnotherapy.

Other areas of hypnotherapy I deal with

I also work with clients navigating career transitions, workplace stress, burnout, performance anxiety, and imposter syndrome, and with individuals preparing for birth.
