About me

**Please note I will not be accepting any new client bookings for the remainder of 2021**

Hello, my name is Sophie and I'm a cognitive hypnotherapist, coach and the founder of The Inner, a mind health and wellbeing practice based in Ealing and Covent Garden in London.

What I do
I work with a range of people to help them to live their best life, by guiding them to connect with their unconscious, so they can free themselves from patterns of behaviour that may be holding them back. I believe speaking to the unconscious is the key to eliciting change.

What is Cognitive Hypnotherapy?
Cognitive Hypnotherapy is a modern, holistic and flexible approach influenced by cognitive theory, neuroscience, evolutionary psychology and Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP). It utilises a range of techniques and tools, including Timeline Regression, EMI (Eye Movement Integration), EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique also known as Tapping), among many others to equip and empower the mind to resolve and fix its own issues.

How I can help
I support my clients on a range of issues that may be affecting the way they think and feel about things in their life, from stress and anxiety to negative behaviour and habits, including issues related to confidence and low self-esteem. Issues that may have left them feeling stuck and unable to move forwards with their lives.

I think you'll be surprised about the different things I could help with, and how quickly you start to observe change in how you think and feel, after we start working together.

Training, qualifications & experience

I have been fortunate to graduate with a Cognitive Hypnotherapy Diploma (DipCHyp, HPD) from the world renowned Quest Institute at Regent's University, London under the tutelage of its founder Trevor Silvester.

I am also a certified Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) master practitioner; a HypnoBirthing® Child Birth Educator and a certified Mental Health First Aider (MHFA). Outside of my practice, I work as a crisis volunteer for the UK's first free, confidential, 24/7 text support service.

I am a member of the National Council of Hypnotherapists (NCH) and Quest Cognitive Hypnotherapy Professional Association (QCHPA) and I am bound by their code of ethics.

Areas of hypnotherapy I deal with

Information about health conditions (*)

Hypnotherapy can enhance the well-being of individuals diagnosed with serious medical conditions, but should not take the place of medical treatment and advice. If you have been diagnosed with - or suspect you may have - any of these conditions, please speak to your doctor before starting hypnotherapy.

Other areas of hypnotherapy I deal with

I teach the Mongan Method of HypnoBirthing, which was developed by the founder of HypnoBirthing and the HypnoBirthing Institute, Marie Mongan. It is widely considered the original HynoBirthing method. It is based on the simple premise that birth is a natural, normal and human experience and women’s bodies are created to conceive, nurture and birth. For more information, visit

Additional information

I believe we should all view our mind health and wellbeing as an investment and not an expense. The cost of each session, includes time outside of the therapy room to develop a tailored programme, supporting personalised hypnotherapy recordings, materials and ad hoc support in between sessions.

I charge a flat fee for sessions. The preliminary session where we explore your issue in-depth to garner enough information to develop a bespoke treatment plan, typically lasts up to 90 minutes; and subsequent sessions usually take around 60 minutes. The cost for an online session is £150.

Blocks of three online sessions are also available for £400. Why blocks of three? Quite simply three is my magic number, it's after the third session when most of my clients report they feel better, and no longer need to continue seeing me because they feel the changes they have achieved will be maintained in the long-term.

For in person sessions, because I work from multiple London locations, to make things fair pricing varies depends on where I see you.

Everyone is different and there is no standard number of sessions, but most clients report change after three, with two or three weeks in between each session. Ultimately, it depends on you. I am committed to working at a pace and intensity you need, and our work together is only completed when you feel confident that the results achieved will be sustained long term, whether that's after two sessions or five.

Courses, Programmes & packages
For clients who prefer to commit to working together for a more sustained period in a coaching capacity, we can look at creating a bespoke programme. These can vary from one month to six months - the length is totally dictated by you, and the investment is dependent on the level of support needed.

Details of my group and private HypnoBirthing courses can be found on my website:

Please note, in accordance with social distancing guidelines, I am currently only offering sessions online via Google Meet.

I am not accepting any new clients until Summer 2022.

Further information

Working together
I only work with a handful of clients at any one time, and before I agree to work with you we will have a conversation to see whether I am the right person to coach and support you. My goal is to ensure that you progress, which is why I only work with clients if I feel confident that I can help elicit positive and lasting change.   You wouldn't buy a pair of shoes before checking it fits first - so the call is for my clients as much as it is for me, you need to be sure that you feel 100% certain I can give you the help and support you need to achieve your goals.

Only after we’ve spoken will I send you details to my online calendar, where you can schedule your first appointment.
