About me
I have worked the majority of my adult life in health and social care and have worked for mental health services, substance misuse services, and for homeless charities. I really enjoy supporting people to regain control of their lives, and to recover and thrive. I have realised that people are very resilient and resourceful, and with the right kind of environment, support, and mindset, they can turn their lives around for the better. This led me to become a Solution Focused Hypnotherapist. I use a combination of hypnotherapy and coaching techniques and skills to create an integrative style of working and adapt it to suit their individual needs. I believe that everyone has the ability to come up with their own solutions and by creating the right environment, and building trust with the therapist, people can begin to explore and discover these abilities and use them to transform their lives.
I love to travel and meet people from different cultures and this has really helped to open my mind and realise how diverse and interesting we all are and how we can learn from each other. One of the countries I visited was Peru where I worked with plant medicines. This experience really shifted my perspective of reality. It made me realise how powerful and influential are thoughts are and how they shape our reality. It made me more mindful of my own thinking and the language that I use to express myself. It also made me more aware of how our thinking trigger emotions, and that our emotions drive our behaviours, and how we present ourselves to the world . As the Buddha said "With our thoughts we create the World".

Areas of hypnotherapy I deal with
info Information about health conditions (*)
Hypnotherapy can enhance the well-being of individuals diagnosed with serious medical conditions, but should not take the place of medical treatment and advice. If you have been diagnosed with - or suspect you may have - any of these conditions, please speak to your doctor before starting hypnotherapy.
Other areas of hypnotherapy I deal with
Many of the people that I see have reached a crossroads in their lives and are unhappy in their relationships, jobs, or with the lifestyles they lead. They may feel that something is missing but are not entirely sure what that thing is. A combination of hypnotherapy and coaching can give someone the clarity to realise what they want and to tap into the courage and drive to make things happen. With a mindset that is more positive, capable, and forward thinking, someone can create the life that they desire.
Ultimately it is about empowering people to develop a positive state of mind and to live the most rewarding and happiest life they can.

Further information
A typical session can start off with "What's been good about your week" as we begin to focus on the 3 P's - positive thinking, positive actions, and positive interactions which can help someone to feel relaxed and release positive neurotransmitters. This can lead us onto an insightful and informative discussion about the neuroscience of the brain which can help create understanding and awareness about why you think and behave the way you do. This can make you start to take more control of your life as you realise you can change your thinking which can make you feel more empowered. I may then invite you to tap into your imaginative powers where the you begin to imagine your desired future and the small steps that you need to take in order to get there. By this stage, you will be feeling more relaxed and optimistic and this will be the time when you relax in a comfortable reclining chair, and with some gentle music playing, I use powerful and positive language to bypass the conscious mind and embed itself into your subconscious mind. This enables the seeds of positive change to start to take root and begin to grow. Outside of the in-person sessions, I will provide you with a relaxation recording for you to listen to which will support the work we do together.
Please be reminded that this is just a 'typical session' and because everyone is different, I may sometimes adapt the session to suit their needs.
