'I can't thank you enough for the way in which you've helped me. I walked into my first session feeling the lowest I've ever felt in my life, having panic attacks which I just couldn't seem to gain control of, I was desperate and didn't know where to turn. But with your help and guidance over those few short weeks, I feel that I have turned my life around and I'm in a more positive place than I can ever remember being. Thank you again, Libby. I know I will be able to cope so much better in my life with the tools you've given me to move forward. You've changed my life beyond belief and for that, I thank you from the bottom of my heart'. (AM, Colchester)
'Libby's absolute commitment is apparent from the start. It underpins her wise understanding and is central to the trust she inspires'. (JG, Ipswich)
'I had been looking for a hypnotherapist for a long time when my osteopath recommended Libby. I immediately relaxed in her company and was able to focus on the issues I needed to come to terms with. She gave me the ability to recognise my difficult thoughts so I could stop them before they spiralled me down. She taught me techniques that I can use when I have to. Thanks to Libby I was able to regain my true potential'. (RJ, Colchester)
'I gave birth to my beautiful baby boy, could not have got through my pregnancy without Libbys help, all the worries and anxiety I had just drifted away and I feel much stronger for it now'. (KW, Colchester)
'The tapping method Libby taught my daughter (11) has helped her with the enormous task of giving up thumb sucking, which has been a huge issue, starting secondary school. More importantly, she has learned a life skill that will help her through her young life, education and future situations. We will always be grateful to Libby for sharing this with our daughter, what a wonderful asset to have. Thankyou!' (AG, Wivenhoe)
Training, qualifications & experience
In 2010 I trained at The Quest Institute in Regents College, London under Trevor Silvester, the highly acclaimed author and founder of Cognitive Hypnotherapy.
I hold a Diploma in Cognitive Hypnotherapy (DipCHyp), the Hypnotherapy Practitioners Diploma (HPD) and the NLP Practitioners certificate (NLPP). The Hypnotherapy Practitioners Diploma is the only national externally accredited hypnotherapy qualification.
I am a registered member of the Quest Cognitive Hypnotherapy Practitioners Association (QCHPA) and the Complimentary and Natural Healthcare Council (CNHC), registration number 000070-D15.
The CNHC is the UK regulator for complimentary healthcare practitioners. The Department of Health recommends that, where the CNHC registers the professional discipline in question, you consult with someone who is CNHC registered.
I have also trained with Jane Hodgkin in Hypnobirthing the Confident Childbirth Way; this is a unique and safe way of providing Cognitive Hypnotherapy to expecting mothers for issues surrounding their pregnancy, as well as childbirth hypnosis for pain and control through labour.
Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council
The CNHC encompasses many types of alternative therapy, including hypnotherapy.
In order to be admitted to the register a practitioner must have studied to the National Occupational Standards for that profession/discipline, or have reached the equivalent of the National Occupational Standards through other relevant training or at least three years of experience and been assessed by their peers.
A practitioner must also have professional insurance and agree to abide by the CNHC Code of Conduct, Performance and Ethics.
Accredited register membership
Accredited Register Scheme
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
Areas of hypnotherapy I deal with
Information about health conditions (*)
Hypnotherapy can enhance the well-being of individuals diagnosed with serious medical conditions, but should not take the place of medical treatment and advice. If you have been diagnosed with - or suspect you may have - any of these conditions, please speak to your doctor before starting hypnotherapy.
£85.00 per session
Free initial telephone session
Each session lasts between an hour and an hour and twenty minutes and costs £85 (£70 concessions), which is payable by bank transfer on the day of your appointment.
My main client hours are on Monday, Wednesday,Thursday and Friday mornings, however other times can be made available including over weekends - Just ask!
The first session with me will consist of a full consultation where I will ask you lots of questions about how you experience your problem and how you will know that your problem has been resolved. This will enable me to create a treatment plan specifically for you which will draw from many different therapy techniques, as well as writing a bespoke hypnosis script using a technique called Wordweaving®*; these combined will make achieving your goal much more likely.
Everything that is discussed will remain completely confidential.
In the first session, I will explain how the subsequent session will work and may teach you techniques to practice in between sessions.
A recording of the scripted hypnosis part of the sessions can be made available to you to download and play at home.
