About me

Thanks for clicking on my profile! I offer friendly, constructive therapy in a positive environment to work on your issues. I decided to completely change career after having therapy myself so I've been in your position. I hope you find the information on my profile helpful. If you have any further questions just contact me, I'm happy to help :-)

In 2008 I began to suffer with a severe anxiety and panic disorder. To tell you what I was afraid of would be too long a list, frankly I was anxious about everything! I sought therapy and now I'm living proof of the fact that you can recover from an anxiety or panic disorder. I've also suffered with self esteem issues such as Imposter Syndrome, where I felt like a fraud that was going to be found out at any moment! It was hypnotherapy that really helped me to get better.

Although I treat a wide range of issues in my practice I specialise in treating anxiety and self esteem issues. I chose these areas as my specialism because I know what it's like to have all of those thoughts and feelings. I know every trick in the book anxiety will play and I will never, ever judge you for those thoughts and feelings you're having. I've been there, I know what it's like and I got better. I want to help you get better too!

I'm more than aware of the consequences stress and anxiety can have on your life. After experiencing and seeing the consequences these issues, when not dealt with, can have, I decided to make a difference by providing therapy to those that want help from someone who has been there, done that and got the T-Shirt.

I offer a complimentary phone consultation where you can discuss with me why you're seeking therapy and I can explain how I might help you. Absolutely everything is confidential. I ask that you give me some information about why you're seeking therapy. I will always make sure I'm working ethically and within my remit - for example I don't treat minors and I don't treat issues such as schizophrenia. You can tell me as much as you're comfortable with.

I will then offer you an Initial Consultation and if you're happy to go ahead we book the appointment. In terms of availability, I try to get clients an Initial Consultation appointment as soon as possible (usually within a week).

We meet at my office based in central Chelmsford, opposite the bus station and just a minute or so walk from the train station. I'm based at Chelmsford Therapy Rooms - a therapist membership organisation and private therapy clinic I set up in 2015.

In your Initial Consultation we discuss your issues more in depth. I'll ask you further questions to really get an accurate idea of your issue. Don't worry if you don't know how to describe how you're feeling - I know what to ask to get the information I need! I ask my clients to set goals so that we can regularly and accurately review your progress. My aim is to help you feel better asap.

I treat clients on a weekly basis for the first 4 weeks. This is to ensure that we really get the ball rolling, If we're doing suggestion therapy I find it more effective to really embed the suggestions asap. I also offer further coping techniques in my sessions to help you even further. If you wish to continue with therapy after the first 4 sessions (lots of clients do simply because they find the process so enjoyable!) we can then look at your availability and book in further sessions for you.

All of my hypnotherapy scripts are tailored specifically to you. I may also record your script so that, if you want to, you can keep it forever and go back to using it whenever you need to. I also provide extra support and coping mechanisms to ensure you feel fully supported and able to overcome your issues.

My approach encourages you to change your life forever by becoming more self aware, accepting and learning from experiences and behaviours, and learning new coping mechanisms you can implement throughout your life. Hypnotherapy can be absolutely life changing and I feel it extremely important to have a positive relationship with the client so we can tailor your service as accurately as possible.

My style of therapy is designed to help you feel more in control and have a more positive experience of life. Many individuals suffer in silence from stress, anxiety and other issues - I help you to learn how to cope better using an approach that is honest, straight-forward, understanding and empathic.

I first qualified in Hypnotherapy in 2010. I'm qualified to Diploma level (with distinction) in Hypnotherapy and Advanced Diploma level in Counselling and Psychotherapy. I'm a member of the National Hypnotherapy Society and the National Counselling Society.

I have always worked in private practice. I've treated many different types of clients with many different issues - anything from habits such as nail biting and hair pulling (trichotillomania), to helping victims of abuse overcome anxiety and painful memories. I've treated clients suffering with severe anxiety, including those who have physical symptoms such as shaking or blushing. I have experience of treating self esteem issues, anxiety and panic disorders and insomnia. Whatever is bothering you, whatever has made you read my profile today, I just want you to know that I've probably seen your issue and nothing you tell me will shock me! There's no need to be embarrassed, just give me a call or drop me an email and we'll see how I can help.

Please note I do not specialise in children and therefore do not treat anyone under the age of 18.
