About me
Supporting Dyslexic Minds – Confidence, Anxiety & Emotional Wellbeing
I’m Frances B. Lafferty, a qualified and professionally registered hypnotherapist supporting adults and young people with anxiety, stress, overthinking, confidence and emotional wellbeing.
One area particularly close to my heart is Supporting Dyslexic Minds – confidence, wellbeing and feeling understood.
Having been diagnosed with dyslexia as a child, I understand that dyslexia is about much more than reading, writing and spelling. It can also affect confidence, self-esteem and how we see ourselves.
My aim is to provide a calm, confidential and supportive environment where you feel seen, heard and understood.
What can I expect from hypnotherapy sessions?
Hypnotherapy is a collaborative approach using focused attention, relaxation and therapeutic techniques to help you explore and change unhelpful thoughts, feelings and responses.
Every session is personalised to your individual experiences, needs and goals.
We work together at a pace that feels comfortable for you, helping you develop greater confidence, emotional wellbeing and a sense of control.
How can hypnotherapy support dyslexic minds?
Every dyslexic person is different, with their own strengths, experiences and challenges.
For some people, dyslexia can be accompanied by anxiety, overthinking, low confidence or feelings of being misunderstood.
Hypnotherapy may help you:
Build confidence and self-belief.
Manage anxiety and overthinking.
Reduce emotional overwhelm.
Develop healthier responses to stress.
Recognise your individual strengths.
Feel calmer and more in control.
Hypnotherapy does not change or cure dyslexia. Instead, my focus is on supporting the emotional wellbeing and confidence of dyslexic individuals.
Dyslexic minds do not need to be fixed. They need to be understood.
Can I see you if I’m not dyslexic?
Absolutely.
Although Supporting Dyslexic Minds is a particular focus of my practice, I also work with clients experiencing anxiety, stress, sleep difficulties, confidence challenges and workplace wellbeing concerns.
You do not need to be dyslexic to benefit from my hypnotherapy services.
What might I be able to do differently?
Through our work together, you may find yourself better able to:
Approach situations with greater confidence.
Manage anxious thoughts and feelings.
Respond to stressful situations more calmly.
Recognise and challenge limiting beliefs.
Relax and switch off.
Feel more confident being yourself.
Everyone responds differently to hypnotherapy, and outcomes cannot be guaranteed.
How do I get started?
I offer a free 30-minute Zoom consultation where we can discuss what you are experiencing, what you would like support with and whether hypnotherapy is right for you.
Sessions are available in person in Long Buckby, Northamptonshire, and online via Zoom.

Supporting Dyslexic Minds
Having been diagnosed with dyslexia as a child, I bring both professional knowledge and lived experience to my work supporting dyslexic adults and young people.
I understand that dyslexia can affect much more than reading, writing and spelling, including confidence, self-esteem, anxiety and emotional wellbeing.
My focus is not on changing dyslexia, but on supporting the emotional challenges that some dyslexic individuals experience, helping them build confidence, recognise their strengths and feel understood.
I remain committed to ongoing professional development through specialist training, continued learning and regular professional supervision.
My approach combines professional training, practical experience and genuine understanding, providing personalised hypnotherapy tailored to each individual.

Member organisations
Hypnotherapists may become members of the General Hypnotherapy Register if they satisfy certain criteria with regard to both training and ongoing requirements as determined from time to time by the General Hypnotherapy Standards Council (GHSC). Members are either registered at Practitioner status (which confirms that the GHR acknowledges their qualification to practice), or Affiliate status. Although Affiliate level registrants will have completed a sufficient number of training hours to equip them to commence seeing clients on a limited basis, the GHR does not acknowledge them to have yet been trained to full practitioner level. All GHR Registered Practitioners are required to accept the published Code of Ethics and Complaints & Disciplinary Procedure.
The National Council for Hypnotherapy holds one of the largest registers of independent Hypnotherapists in the United Kingdom and strives to maintain the highest standards among its members. There is an agreed Code of Conduct, an established Complaints & Disciplinary Procedure and all members are obliged to maintain comprehensive Public Liability & Professional Indemnity Insurance, maintain regular CPD (continuing professional development) hours, and attend Supervision when needed.
The CNHC encompasses many types of alternative therapy, including hypnotherapy. In order to be admitted to the register a practitioner must have studied to the National Occupational Standards for that profession/discipline, or have reached the equivalent of the National Occupational Standards through other relevant training or at least three years of experience and been assessed by their peers. A practitioner must also have professional insurance and agree to abide by the CNHC Code of Conduct, Performance and Ethics.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

info Information about health conditions (*)
Hypnotherapy can enhance the well-being of individuals diagnosed with serious medical conditions, but should not take the place of medical treatment and advice. If you have been diagnosed with - or suspect you may have - any of these conditions, please speak to your doctor before starting hypnotherapy.

Supporting Dyslexic Minds – Confidence, Anxiety & Emotional Wellbeing
I have a particular interest in supporting dyslexic adults and young people with the emotional challenges that can sometimes accompany dyslexia.
Having been diagnosed with dyslexia as a child, I understand that it is about much more than reading, writing and spelling.
My hypnotherapy sessions focus on helping individuals build confidence, manage anxiety and overthinking, strengthen self-belief and feel more comfortable being themselves.
Every dyslexic mind is different, and my approach is personalised to each individual’s needs, strengths and experiences.
Hypnotherapy does not treat or change dyslexia itself. Instead, I focus on supporting emotional wellbeing, confidence and helping people feel seen, heard and understood.
Dyslexic minds do not need to be fixed. They need to be understood.
