About me

If anxiety, overthinking, low mood or poor sleep are starting to run your life, you’re not alone.

You might know logically that things aren’t as bad as they feel, and yet your mind won’t switch off. Perhaps you’re tired of the constant tension, the mental replay at night, or the sense that you’re not quite yourself anymore.

Hypnotherapy works by calming and retraining the nervous system. When the brain is stuck in stress mode, it becomes harder to think clearly, sleep well, or respond confidently. The good news is that these patterns are learned, and they can be unlearned.

I’m Fergus Findlay, an experienced Solution-Focused Hypnotherapist trained with the Clifton Practice, the gold standard in UK hypnotherapy training. I specialise in anxiety, stress, depression and sleep difficulties, but also help people with performance anxiety, anger, phobias, weight management, and smoking or vaping cessation.

My approach is practical and forward-looking. We don’t spend weeks analysing the past. Instead, we focus on how you want to feel and the specific steps that will help you get there. Each session builds on the last, helping you regain steadiness, clarity, and control.

Before training as a hypnotherapist, I spent 25 years studying how the brain and mind work, first through academic study in physiology, psychology, and neuroscience, and then through almost two decades of advanced meditation training, including four years living and training in Buddhist monasteries in Asia and the UK. This background allows me to blend scientific understanding with a range of practical techniques that genuinely calm and strengthen the mind.

All clients receive a tailored treatment plan. As an added optional bonus, you’ll also have free unlimited access to my weekly mind training (meditation) classes for as long as you wish, even after your course of therapy ends. Meditation is a powerful complement to hypnotherapy, and I teach it in a simple, practical way that fits into daily life.

Sessions are available in person in a comfortable therapy centre, or online.

If you’d like to explore how this could help you, you’re welcome to arrange a free consultation. We’ll talk about what’s been happening, what you’d like to change, and how we can begin moving things forward.
