Deva Priya - BA (Hons) Dip GHR & NHS
Hi, my name is Priya - As an Integrative Hypnotherapist I combine counselling psychotherapy and therapeutic art with Hypnotherapy. I work with individuals, couples, teenagers and groups - specialising in managing anxiety, IVF, couples therapy, weight loss and bereavement.
I have a long standing career in therapeutic and holistic therapies, bodywork (trauma release)Iand have been teaching yoga, mindful breathing, stress management and meditation for over 20 years. I am highly experienced in helping people to effectvely reduce stress and anxiety, enabling them to sleep better, manage weight, relationship issues as well as relax and recharge themselves. As an artist I may sometimes combine therapeutic art into our sessions together.
Tools for Life Guided visualisation (under hypnosis - I give you recordings) mindful breathing and life coaching are offered to increase your sense of well-being, manage difficult life situations, as well as motivate you to take the next steps, however big or small, to make positive changes in your life.
As an artist I may combine therapeutic art into our sessions together as I have experienced the benefits myself and am fascinated by the insignts that can arise from making a few marks on paper! You can view my artwork on Deva_Raw_Art on Instagram
A Mindful Approach Life can be stressful at times especially when experiencing so many current changes and challenges which are affecting our personal relationships, work and family situations. Sometimes we may need extra support and guidance to help manage anxiety, fears and insecurity that can arise from our current collective situation. Hypnotherapy can help to let go of unwanted thoughts, feelings and behaviours to enable us to manage our lives and understand what is important to us. Constant demands, daily stress, anxiety - can be the cause of many modern day problems, both physical and mental - which in turn can affect our health, intimate relationships and relationships in general.
I am an NLP, and CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy) Practitioner as well as a fully certified HypnoBirthing® Practitioner.
Accredited member of The General Hypnotherapy Register and the National Hypnotherapy Society
How does Hypnotherapy Bring About Effective Change? Having trained in Integrative HypnotherapyI can draw upon a combination of Hypnotherapy, Counselling,NLP (Neuro Linguistic Programming) and CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy). This approach combines Hypnotherapy with exploring thought patterns and behaviours that may have caused the responses in yourself (physical as well mental) that you would like to change - such as overeatiing, relationship issues, phobias, depression, lack of self confidence, IBS, chronic fatigue, insomnia and chronic pain.
By working together to understand and recognise your thoughts and behaviours, I am then able to effectively input different thought patterns and behaviours during our hypnosis sessions to help bring about the changes you are seeking for yourself and improve your quality of life and overall sense of well-being.
Together we can bring clarity and focus around your life direction and coach you as to how to make the changes that can bring this about.
What Happens During a Session?
Sessions usually begin with discussing and exploring the issue you would like to work on, and what outcome you would like for yourself from our sessions together.
You are then guided into a deeply relaxed state during which alternative behaviours and new ways of thinking are suggested. You are completely in control during hypnosis and can come out of your relaxed state at any moment you choose.
There is some time to talk about your experience at the end of the session. Sessions are fifty minutes to one hour long apart from stopping smoking (x 2 sessions 90minutes long plus free follow up session within 6 months if needed)
Hypnotherapy is usually short term therapy - it all depends on you and what you would like to work on during our sessions together. Sometimes only one session may be sufficient as, for instance, in stopping smoking or working with a phobia. However, the amount of sessions that I recommend varies for each individual.
You are more than welcome to contact me for further information - without any obligation - to discuss any questions you may have. I offer a free fifteen minute telephone or Zoom/Facetime (over the internet so that we are speaking face to face) consultation.
Please see my video below, I look forward to hearing from you.
