About me
I am a highly experienced hypnotherapist and psychotherapist based in Ashtead, Surrey. My approach is founded in the belief that every person is unique and because of this therapy must be tailored to the individual person.
Some people want to work quickly, some more slowly, and some people are not sure what they want or need and hence need a safe environment in which to explore their best route forward.
I work with teenagers and adults across a very wide range of issues - from habit change to resolving deep trauma.
Training, qualifications & experience
I am a UKPC registered hypo-psychotherapist, which means my training in hypnotherapy was extensive (registration requires a minimum of 4 years post-graduate training). I am also a Master Practitioner in Neuro-linguistic Programming and an EMDR trained therapist (EMDR is the approach of choice for treating post traumatic stress disorder).
I abide by the Code of Ethics of UKCP (the largest organisation of registered psychotherapists and counsellors) and as part of this commitment have regular clinical supervision.
I am a Fellow of the National Society of Talking Therapies and registered with the UK Council for Psychotherapy (Registration Number: 2011162199).
Member organisations
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.
The United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) is an umbrella organisation, with over 80 training, or accrediting organisations in membership. Registration with UKCP is obtained through one of their Member Organisations and each practitioner must maintain membership of a Member Organisation to maintain their UKCP Registration. Members must adhere to approved Codes of Ethics and Practice and be accountable to UKCP Complaints and Appeals Procedures.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Information about health conditions (*)
Hypnotherapy can enhance the well-being of individuals diagnosed with serious medical conditions, but should not take the place of medical treatment and advice. If you have been diagnosed with - or suspect you may have - any of these conditions, please speak to your doctor before starting hypnotherapy.
