About me
I specialise in working with clients who struggle with anxiety. My approach is supportive and gentle offering high-quality therapy that is discreet and confidential, and tailored for you. My private practice has been established since 1999.
I am a master's level accredited and experienced clinical hypnotherapist, psychotherapist and qualified CBT practitioner and EMDR practitioner. I provide a supportive approach, that is discreet and confidential, tailored for adults and young people.
I have been established as a hypnotherapist and psychotherapist since 1999, supporting adults, children and young people with a wide range of emotional, psychological and behavioural concerns.
As a hypnotherapist, I commonly help clients with:
- Anxiety and panic attacks
- PTSD
- Stress and overwhelm
- Phobias and fears
- Social anxiety
- Obsessive or intrusive thoughts
- Low mood and confidence issues
- Weight-related concerns
- Smoking cessation
- Unhelpful habits and behaviours
How Hypnotherapy Works:
Hypnosis is a natural and familiar state, similar to daydreaming or the moments just before sleep. When working with a hypnotherapist, you remain fully aware and in control at all times.
A common misconception is that hypnosis involves losing control. In therapeutic clinical hypnotherapy, the hypnotherapist works collaboratively with you to help your mind and nervous system feel calmer, safer and more balanced and more in control.
In this relaxed state, hypnotherapy can help you:
- Reduce anxiety and emotional reactivity.
- Change unhelpful thought patterns.
- Respond more calmly to triggers.
- Build confidence and emotional resilience
A Combined Therapeutic Approach
In my work as a hypnotherapist, hypnotherapy is often combined with other therapeutic approaches, depending on your individual needs. This may include psychotherapy, counselling and emotional regulation techniques including CBT. EMDR can work significantly we’ll alongside hypnotherapy.
Using hypnotherapy alongside talking therapy can be particularly effective for issues that feel deeply rooted or difficult to shift through discussion alone.
The unconscious mind responds strongly to imagery and experience. Hypnotherapy allows your mind to rehearse calmer, more adaptive responses, helping positive change feel more natural and lasting.
How Many Sessions Will I Need with a Hypnotherapist?
Some clients notice improvements within a small number of sessions, while others benefit from longer-term support with a hypnotherapist. This depends on your goals, history and the nature of the difficulties you are experiencing.
Hypnotherapy can sometimes reduce the need for long-term therapy, but there are no guarantees of instant results. Sessions are always paced carefully, with your safety and wellbeing as an important part of our sessions.
