About me

Hi I’m Bonnie,

An accredited Hypnotherapist based in Dorking in the beautiful Surrey Hills.

I work with people who want to make a positive change in their lives. You may know exactly what you would like to change, or you may simply feel stuck in a pattern of thinking, feeling or behaving that no longer works for you.

My approach is warm, practical and highly personalised. I don’t believe hypnotherapy should be one-size-fits-all, so every session is shaped around you, your experiences, your goals and the way you respond.

Hypnotherapy works with the subconscious – the part of the mind involved in many of our established habits, beliefs, associations and automatic responses. Depending on your individual needs, I may combine hypnotherapy with techniques drawn from NLP, coaching and other therapeutic approaches.

You remain aware and in control throughout hypnotherapy. My role is to help you feel comfortable, listen carefully to what you would like to achieve and work collaboratively with you towards positive change.

Face-to-face sessions are available from my private therapy room in the Surrey Hills. I also offer online appointments and face-to-face sessions near Kings Langley, Hertfordshire or Great Bentley in Essex are also available.

If you are wondering whether hypnotherapy might be right for you, I offer a complimentary 15-minute telephone or online consultation. This gives you an opportunity to tell me what you would like help with, ask questions and decide whether I am the right hypnotherapist for you.

Helping you create positive change ✨

Training, qualifications & experience

I am a qualified Clinical Hypnotherapist, with professional training in Clinical Hypnotherapy, Advanced Hypnotherapy Techniques and Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP).

My qualifications and training include:

  • Diploma in Clinical Hypnotherapy
  • Advanced Hypnotherapy Techniques and NLP
  • Foundation in Hypnotherapy – Marisa Peer
  • Foundation in Rapid Transformational Therapy® – Marisa Peer
  • Foundation in Rapid Transformational Coaching® – Marisa Peer

My training covered a broad range of hypnotherapeutic and change-work techniques including regression, Gestalt and Inner Child work, pain management, childbirth, fears and phobias, habits and addictions, weight management, smoking cessation and psychophysiological conditions. I also use techniques drawn from NLP, Parts Therapy, reframing and subconscious reprogramming.  This allows me to tailor each session to the individual rather than relying upon one technique or a standard script.

Before becoming a hypnotherapist, I built a long professional career in education, inclusion and wellbeing. I have extensive experience supporting young people, families, adults and colleagues with a wide variety of individual and sometimes complex needs.

As an Inclusion Manager at The Gateway Academy, I led the academy’s Inclusion Quality Mark work. With the support of my colleagues and staff there, we achieved two consecutive multi-year IQM Gold awards, and the academy subsequently became an IQM Flagship school, sharing inclusive practice with other academies. Our inclusion provision was later recognised and celebrated by Ofsted, receiving an Outstanding judgement.

This experience continues to influence the way I work today. I believe strongly in seeing the individual rather than simply the issue they bring with them, listening without judgement and adapting my approach to the person in front of me.

My training included regression, Gestalt and Inner Child work, pain management, childbirth, fears and phobias, habits and addictions, weight management, smoking cessation and psychophysiological conditions. I also use techniques drawn from NLP, Parts Therapy, reframing and subconscious reprogramming.

I am committed to continuing professional development and undertake ongoing professional supervision as part of my professional practice.

The General Hypnotherapy Register (GHR)

Hypnotherapists may become members of the General Hypnotherapy Register if they satisfy certain criteria with regard to both training and ongoing requirements as determined from time to time by the General Hypnotherapy Standards Council (GHSC). Members are either registered at Practitioner status (which confirms that the GHR acknowledges their qualification to practice), or Affiliate status. Although Affiliate level registrants will have completed a sufficient number of training hours to equip them to commence seeing clients on a limited basis, the GHR does not acknowledge them to have yet been trained to full practitioner level. All GHR Registered Practitioners are required to accept the published Code of Ethics and Complaints & Disciplinary Procedure.

Information about health conditions (*)

Hypnotherapy can enhance the well-being of individuals diagnosed with serious medical conditions, but should not take the place of medical treatment and advice. If you have been diagnosed with - or suspect you may have - any of these conditions, please speak to your doctor before starting hypnotherapy.

Other areas of hypnotherapy I deal with

My training included regression, Gestalt and Inner Child work, pain management, childbirth, fears and phobias, habits and addictions, weight management, smoking cessation and psychophysiological conditions. I also use techniques drawn from NLP, Parts Therapy, reframing and subconscious reprogramming.

Perimenopause and women’s wellbeing; men’s wellbeing; motivation and focus; quietening a busy mind and creating more space between thoughts; support with ADHD-related focus, overwhelm, organisation and confidence; interview and audition nerves; acting and stage confidence; performance preparation; the gut–brain connection and support for people with medically diagnosed IBS; emotional eating; managing emotional triggers; changing unwanted patterns; and personal development.

Hypnotherapy can support positive change, but every person is different. The approach will always be tailored to the individual, their circumstances, goals and engagement with the therapeutic process.

Further information

What to expect …
I understand that contacting a hypnotherapist can feel like a big step, particularly if you have never experienced hypnosis before.

I offer a complimentary 15-minute telephone or online consultation before you decide whether you would like to book. There is no obligation to continue. This gives us an opportunity to talk about what you would like to achieve and for you to ask any questions.

If we decide to work together, I take time to understand you and what is happening in your life rather than applying a standard approach. Sessions are tailored to your individual needs and goals, and you remain aware and in control throughout hypnosis.

I offer different appointment options depending on what you would like help with. A 50-minute hypnotherapy session is available for more straightforward, focused work, while longer appointments allow more time for in-depth or exploratory work. We can discuss which option is most appropriate for you during your complimentary consultation.

Where appropriate, you may also receive a personalised recording to listen to between appointments, helping to reinforce the work undertaken during your session.

Face-to-face appointments are available from my private therapy room just outside Dorking in the Surrey Hills, with daytime, evening and some weekend availability. I also offer online appointments and face-to-face sessions in Abbots Langley, Hertfordshire and Great Bentley, Essex twice per month.

Please feel free to contact me if you are unsure whether hypnotherapy is suitable for what you would like to work on. We can have an informal conversation first and take it from there.
