About me

I am a fully qualified Solution-Focused Hypnotherapist providing effective and long-lasting therapy to help children, teens and adults cope better with anxiety, imposter syndrome, fears, trauma, pain and limiting beliefs from my clinic in East Sheen, southwest London.

I offer an initial free 20-minute phone consultation where you can tell me more about what is going on in your life and for us to see if hypnotherapy is the best way forward.

So often we suffer unnecessarily from our limiting beliefs and a sense of not being enough. When our critical inner dialogue is in charge, it feels like we're not thin enough, popular enough, or successful enough and these form a continuous negative loop in our mind that can stop us from feeling calm, confident and happy.

Almost all of the clients I see are suffering from some form of stress and anxiety, young and old, which is not surprising in the current geopolitical situation following the Covid pandemic. Many are feeling overwhelmed and unable to cope effectively with their daily lives and this can have a knock-on effect on relationships and overall health, with many resorting to addictive coping strategies, such as alcohol and food.

I also see clients coming to see me with various forms of performance anxiety (including fear of public speaking), social anxiety, exam stress, insomnia, weight management and a general lack of motivation.

As no two individuals are the same, we will work collaboratively on enabling you to identify what is causing you concern, establish the desired outcome, and set individual goals to work towards that outcome. By enabling you to access your own inner resources and capabilities, you are better equipped to manage your emotional and mental state and respond to challenges feeling empowered, calm and in control.

I practice Solution-Focused Hypnotherapy which is all about finding solutions to problems without excessively dwelling on the past.  No matter what we have experienced in life, we all have a longing for something different, something better. Solution-focused hypnotherapy combines the latest neuroscience with cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), neuro-linguistic programming (NLP),  SF BRIEF therapy, and the powerful state of hypnosis, to help clients make positive and significant changes within a relatively short period of time.

I also hold a Medical Hypnotherapy Diploma from the Clinical Hypnotherapy School (CHS), the leading body in medical hypnotherapy,  to better assist clients suffering from chronic pain, depression, and anxiety relating to medical procedures (including needle phobias) or neurological conditions.

Medical trauma is becoming more common and anxiety and fear for an upcoming operation or medical procedure can be debilitating. Hypnotherapy is an incredibly helpful and gentle intervention to help those experiencing medical issues to cope better.

I had hypnotherapy myself for a stubborn smoking habit many years ago and was impressed by the transformative power of the mind and its potential to change unhelpful thought patterns and behaviour.  You can read more about my journey to becoming a hypnotherapist on my website www.birgittaronn.com/aboutme.

I look forward to meeting you.

Birgitta x

‘My sessions with Birgitta have been life-changing. I used to get really cross with most people, especially my kids, and I was always anxious, feeling I had not done enough. Through hypnosis with Birgitta, I have learned that only I am in charge of my future and that my thoughts shape my reality. I love, love, love the deep relaxation and will come back for a top-up when life gets the better of me. Thank you.’

-Emma, Richmond

‘I have been seeing Birgitta weekly now for about 6 weeks and as early as after our first session I noticed subtle changes in my own behaviour and thinking. I am working with self-confidence issues, negative thought spirals and I’m also trying to change my relationship with alcohol as I use it to dampen feelings. Birgitta is very insightful and truly has a gift. Her approach is methodical and direct. I could not recommend her more highly.’

– Joan, East Sheen
