About me

I'm a clinical hypnotherapist with a First Class degree in Psychology, and I specialise in IBS, anxiety and the gut-brain connection.

If you've tried to think your way out of anxiety, or managed gut symptoms for years without real change, hypnotherapy works at the level where those patterns actually live: the nervous system. My approach combines psychology with gentle, Ericksonian hypnotherapy. You stay in control throughout, and you leave each session with a personalised recording to keep progressing at home.

I see clients in person at Angel, London (364 City Road), and online across the UK and abroad, Online sessions are £150 and in-person sessions are £190. Every journey starts with a free 15-minute consultation, so we can see whether we're the right fit before you commit to anything.

Training, qualifications & experience

Qualified in psychology and hypnotherapy

I hold a First Class Honours degree in Psychology from Birkbeck, University of London, so my work is grounded in how the mind and body actually respond to stress, anxiety and gut symptoms.

I trained in Ericksonian hypnotherapy under Stephen Brooks at the British Hypnosis Research and Training Institute, gaining my Diploma with distinction. I also hold a HypnoIBS Diploma in gut-directed hypnotherapy for IBS.

Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council (CNHC)

The CNHC encompasses many types of alternative therapy, including hypnotherapy. In order to be admitted to the register a practitioner must have studied to the National Occupational Standards for that profession/discipline, or have reached the equivalent of the National Occupational Standards through other relevant training or at least three years of experience and been assessed by their peers. A practitioner must also have professional insurance and agree to abide by the CNHC Code of Conduct, Performance and Ethics.

GHR
The General Hypnotherapy Register (GHR)

Hypnotherapists may become members of the General Hypnotherapy Register if they satisfy certain criteria with regard to both training and ongoing requirements as determined from time to time by the General Hypnotherapy Standards Council (GHSC). Members are either registered at Practitioner status (which confirms that the GHR acknowledges their qualification to practice), or Affiliate status. Although Affiliate level registrants will have completed a sufficient number of training hours to equip them to commence seeing clients on a limited basis, the GHR does not acknowledge them to have yet been trained to full practitioner level. All GHR Registered Practitioners are required to accept the published Code of Ethics and Complaints & Disciplinary Procedure.

IBS and gut health

"Antonios has been helping me improve my gut issues, which I had previously found incredibly difficult to manage. Having worked with him across 6 sessions, he has been excellent at administering his hypnotherapy. There have been noticeable improvements to the discomfort I previously felt, with my pain subsiding and my confidence in managing my symptoms greatly improving. I would highly recommend Antonios to anyone looking for a psychological intervention to their gut health, which may prove greatly beneficial as an add-on to other measures (e.g. clinical medicine)."

Arthur Avanzato

"I reached out to Antonios to try hypnotherapy for my IBS after a recommendation from my doctor. Little did I know how much my anxiety was causing me IBS symptoms until we started our sessions. After completing my treatment course, my mood has improved a lot... Antonios has been very knowledgeable and attentive throughout the sessions."

Anxiety, worry and confidence

"He was able to fit me in quickly when I really needed help, and from the very first session he was calm, reassuring, and truly understanding. Most importantly, his hypnotherapy has made a meaningful difference to my anxiety!"

Antonio Posada

"I first went to see him because I had developed quite a lot of worry around walking on icy slippery surfaces, and I wanted some help to overcome it. His techniques have really helped me and I now feel much more confident and in control of the situation, rather than letting the worry take over."

Iza Barden

"I had three sessions with him to help improve my confidence and overcome difficulties with public speaking, and I noticed a difference after the very first session. I'd been thinking about hypnotherapy for years, and I'm so glad I finally took action. Antonios is thorough, attentive, and highly professional."

Amy Sara

Habits and healthy eating

"I went to Antonios looking for help with healthy eating... Weirdly, fruit now tastes sweeter than chocolate, and much more enjoyable. I'm also really enjoying my healthy options, I'm not really trying. The behaviour changes have been subtle, there's a peaceful feeling of 'this is how I live now'."

Una Devine

Online sessions

"Extremely satisfied with the entire experience, and how I was guided through and made aware of my own subconscious tendencies... They were online and were just as effective for me. Thank you so much Antonios!"
