About me

In addition to Cognitive Hypnotherapy, NLP and Past Life Regression, I have a background in osteopathy, shiatsu, Chinese medicine, yoga, meditation and mindfulness. I guide people through changing unhelpful habits and mental / emotional patterns and also have had a lot of experience in helping people to recover from injuries and illness and to manage chronic conditions.
When appropriate, I can draw on my knowledge of the body, movement, breathing and techniques for spiritual awareness, to help you more fully embody the changes you are aiming for. Simple self-help practices also physically 'anchor' the new ways of thinking and being in the body-mind and help consolidate the changes. Even after just the first session, you could start to notice yourself beginning to naturally do more of the things that help fulfil your goals and less of the ones that were getting in your way.

If you are experiencing any of these:
• stress, anxiety, panic attacks
• low self esteem, depression, lack of motivation, hopelessness
• repetitive unwanted thoughts, flashbacks, insomnia
• turning to alcohol, drugs, food or sex to block out your feelings
• loss of control, unwanted patterns of behaviour
• chronic pain, poor healing, lack of energy
• fertility issues
• lack of confidence, low self-belief
• feeling stuck, dissatisfied, a lack of meaning and purpose, unable to get to what you want

Cognitive hypnotherapy, NLP, yoga and past life regression can help you find the way through and out the other side, to discover your true self and your own sense of meaning and purpose in life.

Cognitive hypnotherapy is different from most forms of hypnotherapy in that it both incorporates techniques from psychotherapy and CBT and also uses trance states to guide your subconscious to find its own solutions; those that best fit your personality and view of the world. It works to untangle the negative programming of the past, rewiring your nervous system in a way that is sustainable, because it feels normal and still comfortably you, but with a new, positive and empowering outlook. It also helps you envision a believable and achievable goal of the you that you will be when you have your desired outcome.

Past life regression frees the mind to explore the roots of an issue and release the stuck emotional energy from traumatic experiences. Depending on your belief system, these may seem to be from past lives, ancestors lives (passed down through the DNA), from the universal consciousness or metaphors created by the mind in order to heal.

I know from personal experience what it is like to to feel the despair of being imprisoned by the negative conditioning of one's own mind. I suffered years of depression, anxiety and suicidal thoughts in my teens and twenties. Traditional psychotherapy was interesting and brought some insights, but it did not help me to shift and even made me feel worse. Yoga saved my life, gave me hope, tools to feel better, access to the spiritual dimension of being and a whole new perspective. Hypnotherapy gave me confidence, self belief and, best of all, practical ways to take control and actually change the negative patterns. Together they taught me how to really LIVE.

I work in London and online and help people with a very wide range of both physical and mental / emotional issues, using Cognitive Hypnotherapy, NLP, Coaching and Yoga Therapy and teaching people simple techniques they can then use in daily life for themselves.

I offer a free initial phone chat for us both to determine if we would like to work together, what issues you want to focus on and what outcome you'd like. If we decide to go ahead, I'll ask you to complete a questionnaire before the first session, which we'll use as a basis for digging deeper into what underlies the problem and to set some goals, which feel truly authentic to you. Usually I will teach you a simple technique, in that first session to practise on your own and to lay the foundation for our work.

If you are coming for help with a physical issue, I will include a physical assessment and simple movement and breathing techniques, to aid mobility, strength and circulation, as well as hypnotic trance work, for healing, relaxation and ease.

In subsequent sessions we may do some trance regression, to help you unpick the original conditioning behind negative thinking patterns that are holding you back, or use techniques to alter your perspective and bring insight. If appropriate I can draw on my background in yoga and meditation to bring in the spiritual dimension of being.

Sessions most often start at weekly intervals.

The key to happiness is in learning to master the mind – instead of being its victim and discovering how to be the best you you can be for yourself and for the world.

I have long been fascinated by the mind and how we use – and misuse it! It was originally as an adjunct to my work as a yoga therapist and osteopath, that I studied clinical hypnotherapy with Gill Boyne in 2003 and NLP with Paul McKenna, Richard Bandler and Michael Breen in 2002.
I have taught yoga since 1982, was in practice as an osteopath for 11 years and as a shiatsu practitioner for 25 years and, over the years, my practice naturally evolved into yoga therapy. This includes yoga psychology / mastering the mind, which bears many similarities to modern hypnotherapy.

I completed a diploma in cognitive hypnotherapy and NLP with the Quest Institute in 2008, took my professional qualification (HPD) and added hypnotherapy to my yoga therapy practice. In reality the difference is only a matter of how much we include physical movement, specific breath work and spiritual awareness.

I have since completed the Quest Master Practitioner certificate and a Past Life Regression training and know that I will always be studying, training and learning.

Further information

I often use regression as a tool to enable clients to find the root causes of their issues and release the negative emotional energy that is stuck in the body-mind. This can take them to conscious or unconscious memories of events in this life, or can sometimes appear to be past lives, or may be a metaphor created by the client's own mind in order to do what needs to be done to achieve the goal.
