About me
Living and working on the beautiful Moray coast, I provide a face to face hypnotherapy service to the local community and an on-line service that can be accessed by clients across the UK.
Before training in Hypnotherapy I had a background of 15 years working in higher education in Bristol, supporting students to achieve their goals whilst dealing with a lot of changes and firsts in their lives.
Having hypnotherapy in the past helped me make changes that I desired, but didn't seem to be able to move towards. This was a very powerful experience, combining therapeutic conversation and hypnosis induced in a deeply relaxed state, which had a long-term effect. Completing my hypnotherapy training with CPHT has given me the privilege of being able to support clients in this way, encouraging them to access their own inner resources to navigate their own course through life's challenges and changes with a friendly, curious, good-humoured and non-judgemental approach.
I absolutely love accompanying clients on their journey from feeling that they want to but can't, to knowing that they can.
I support clients with a variety of issues which can impact on day to day life, including anxiety, low mood and/or lack of motivation, confidence, fears and phobias (including needle phobias), management of pain, irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) and performance anxiety. I also provide support to clients wishing to stop smoking.
In addition to a solution-focused approach I use some elements of neurolinguistic programming (NLP) and cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) in my therapeutic practice where it is appropriate. I also support clients to learn to induce and use self-hypnosis themselves, to make positive changes and modify behaviours.
Training, qualifications & experience
I hold a Diploma in Solution Focused Hypnotherapy from the Clifton Practice (CPHT) and an Institute of Leadership and Management Level 5 Award in Coaching and Mentoring.
I am registered with the Association for Solution Focused Hypnotherapy and an Associate member of the National Council of Hypnotherapy.
I undertake regular training to keep my skills up to date alongside supervision. I am fully insured and have a full DBS check.
In the last 2 years I have undertaken specialised training from the Clinical Hypnotherapy School in hypnotherapy for IBS, needle phobias, and teaching self-hypnosis.
Member organisations
The Association for Solution Focused Hypnotherapy (AfSFH) was set up to provide information about a modern form of Hypnotherapy and its associated benefits to members of the public. The main aim of the AfSFH is to spread awareness of the benefits of Solution Focused Hypnotherapy. Its secondary aim is to support Hypnotherapists in their businesses by encouraging good practice and self-care.

Where I work there is a small step into the room, which may make it inaccessible to some clients. I am very happy to undertake home visits in these circumstances or if preferred.
