About me

Want to stop self-sabotaging?

Hello, my name is Amanda and I work with women and young people (age 11+) in South London and online helping them find peace and wellbeing.

Cognitive Hypnotherapy is more than just hypnosis.

Cognitive Hypnotherapy is different to normal hypnotherapy. It is unique in that it uses a combination of different approaches such as Polyvagal theory, Positive Psychology and Neuro-Linguistic Programming as well as tailored hypnosis to reinforce change. This means I have lots of different tools to help you make the changes you want.

Attachment & relationship issues. Anxiety. Low self-esteem.

We will work together, focusing on how to make real and lasting changes in your life. Reduce & manage anxiety, feel calmer and much more in control. Develop stronger self-esteem and more self-compassion so you can enjoy healthier relationships.

I work online so I can support you wherever you live.

Sounds good? Please get in touch for a (free) chat.

Anxiety

We all experience anxiety at times but if it affects your life on a daily basis, then it may be time to get some help. People often try to ‘manage’ anxiety by withdrawing from other people and avoiding situations which cause them anxiety – but this doesn’t help in the long run because you’re not dealing with the causes. It can also leave you feeling lonely and isolated which will only make you feel worse.

Anxiety - Does this Describe You?

  • Constantly worried or on edge. Not being able to stop or control worrying.
  • Not being able to relax.
  • Feeling as though something awful might happen.
  • Being easily annoyed or irritable.
  • Having panic attacks.

How I can Help

  • Get to the root of your anxious thoughts & identify any limiting beliefs.
  • Re-frame any trauma or significant events.
  • Teach you strategies to reduce the biological responses to anxiety.
  • Give you tools to reduce and manage anxiety on your own.

How This Can Change Your Life

  • Take control of your life - you won’t be at the mercy of anxiety any longer.
  • Feel safe and grounded without those awful physical feelings that often accompany anxiety.
  • Have the freedom from fear so you can do the things you actually want to do.
  • Feel more relaxed at work, in social situations and with other people.

Low Self-Esteem- Does this Describe You?

Therapy Is For You If:

  • You believe that other people are better than you.
  • Your low-self esteem stops you from doing the things you want to do.
  • You have a self-critical voice which makes you feel bad about yourself.
  • You don't achieve what you could because your limiting beliefs hold you back.

How Hypnotherapy for Low Self-Esteem can Help:

  • Get to the root cause(s) of your low self-esteem and change the beliefs you have about yourself.
  • Build up your self-esteem using research-based techniques.
  • Consolidate changes through bespoke hypnosis.
  • Give you tools to improve your self-esteem which will last a lifetime.

After Therapy:

  • Feel much more confident and have a deep sense of your own worth.
  • View yourself, the world and your future with positivity, hope and a 'can-do' attitude.
  • Be more grounded even when life gets difficult.
  • Always know that you can rely on yourself and your skills.
  • Have higher levels of wellbeing and mental health.

Attachment & Relationship Issues - Does this Describe You?

  • Feel very anxious and insecure. Believe you do not have as much value as others, that others are more interesting or more important than you. You may be clingy in relationships and dread being alone.
  • Feel independent and that you don’t ‘need’ relationships or that being in one is important. You have a very positive self-image. You keep your distance from others and don’t tend to show your emotions. Partners may describe you as being ‘cold’.
  • You do want close relationships, but you have trouble trusting other people and depending on them. You might avoid getting too close to people because you’re scared of getting hurt.

After Therapy:

  • Feel safer & more in control.
  • Be able to manage any negative emotions.
  • Have much more confidence.
  • Have healthier relationships.
  • Have higher levels of wellbeing and better mental health.

Further information

Contact me for a free telephone chat to see how you can benefit from both Cognitive Hypnotherapy and coaching. There will never be any hard sell or pressure to commit.

How does it work?

Sessions will be all about you and your way forward (an hour dedicated to you in which you will be truly listened to).

After an initial session of getting to know you and devising a personalised treatment and solution programme, most sessions will simply feel like a conversation.

We will each make a commitment to work together in order to get you to the place you want to be. For some people, this may only take around 4-6 sessions, for others, it will be longer. We’re aiming for permanent change so it’s different for everyone.

You will have a bespoke hypnosis audio that you can listen to at any time as well as techniques that you can take away with you. Email support will be provided in between sessions.

How long is a session?

The first session will take around 90 minutes.

Subsequent sessions will be around 60-90 minutes.

When & Where?

I hold sessions online using Zoom.

Evenings and weekends.

Who I Can’t Work With

I’m sorry, but my professional guidelines and ethics means that there are some people I am unable to work with:

Those with epilepsy

Those with a psychosis diagnosis (bi-polar disorder, personality disorders & schizophrenia)

Those already receiving counselling or therapy

Pregnant women seeking therapy for emotional issues

Testimonials

‘I worked with Amanda for a couple of months and I would highly recommend her. She is professional, kind and very skilful at what she does. Her sessions had a high impact on me, I managed to process deep feelings that I had held onto for so long, gained huge realisations about current beliefs and this brought me freedom and a greater sense of self. It enabled me to identify what wasn’t working and introduced me to a whole new world to new habits, actions and a greater sense of my well-being.’ (Lisa, Teacher, 30s)

When I contacted Amanda i was finding life tough as I was suffering from anxiety. She was extremely patient and kind and I felt she quickly understood my situation completely. I was supported by Amanda by a bespoke approach with personally tailored audio to take away as well as a series of tools and ideas to use. I felt safe in Amanda's hands - highly recommended! (Michael, musician, 50s)

‘The hypnosis helped me control my sweet tooth. I don’t think about chocolate and I don’t crave anything sweet after I’ve eaten a meal. I feel as if it has really helped me to overcome my bad eating habits.’ (Linda, retired, 60s)

‘Amanda has got rid of the pain in my back…it’s been troubling me for a long time.’ Carol, 90s
