Supervision details
An open and trusting relationship with your supervisor can add real value to your practice and to your well-being in your role. I am a trainer for the National College of Hypnosis and Psychotherapy, training new hypno-psychotherapists. I am also a member of the Academic Board. If you are newly qualified, you may require greater guidance and reassurance than a more experienced therapist. The transition from theory to practical application can throw up new, unexpected issues and supervision gives you the space to work through these in a supportive space. If you are a more experienced therapist, your priority may be less about guidance and more about having the space to work through issues with a client, express emotions that have been stirred up or simply a chance to reflect and process. There are times when the "formative" function will be needed, however experienced we are and a good supervisor will always be open to new learning from you too. If you are interested in me being your supervisor, please give me a call on 01323 508811 or email me. We can have a chat and you can decide in your own time of I am the right supervisor for you. Supervision is £70 per session.
The United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) is an umbrella organisation, with over 80 training, or accrediting organisations in membership. Registration with UKCP is obtained through one of their Member Organisations and each practitioner must maintain membership of a Member Organisation to maintain their UKCP Registration. Members must adhere to approved Codes of Ethics and Practice and be accountable to UKCP Complaints and Appeals Procedures.
The CNHC encompasses many types of alternative therapy, including hypnotherapy.
In order to be admitted to the register a practitioner must have studied to the National Occupational Standards for that profession/discipline, or have reached the equivalent of the National Occupational Standards through other relevant training or at least three years of experience and been assessed by their peers.
A practitioner must also have professional insurance and agree to abide by the CNHC Code of Conduct, Performance and Ethics.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
