About me

Alan is a Solution Focused Hypnotherapist, a Qualified Peer Supervisor and taught the CPHT, HPD Diploma in Manchester for 4 years.

Alan runs a friendly and informal practice, and works using the best of new ideas, in particular Solution Focused Hypnotherapy, which is a practical, forward looking approach to therapy, which offers acceptance as standard, and a chance to move forward without the need to become distressed all over again by past life events, as well as modern 'Brain Based Training' and the best of traditional techniques when working within areas such as simple phobias and stop smoking. No need to reinvent the wheel!

Alan especially enjoys the rewards that come from working with clients experiencing anxiety, depression, and panic attacks, and Alan has for some time specialised in insomnia, bruxism, restless leg, and other sleep disorders such as sleep walking, sleep 'paralysis' and what Alan prefers to term sleep 'behaviour' such as shouting out, tossing and turning, waving limbs, disturbing partners' and reducing the quality of their own sleep. Maybe you'd like to cope/sleep with your partner's snoring? .

Alan also works with the other areas you'd expect from a Hypnotherapist, such as stop smoking and weight loss, as well as many you might not. With a tailor made clinic at The Plassey Leisure Park just off J2 of the A483 nr Wrexham he is ideally placed for clients within the Chester, Wrexham, Oswestry corridor.

First sessions are low charge, which offers Alan the ideal opportunity to explore what he can do for you, and explain how he would approach your situation. This session also gives you the chance to ask your own questions in a relaxed environment, and to assess whether you would be comfortable working with Alan.

Alan never employs analysis or regression techniques, and with this model of hypnotherapy you will never be encouraged to talk during hypnosis, nor will you offer. Hypnosis becomes a tool by which the waking elements of the session are cemented, and a vehicle for relaxation.

Concessions;

*PTSD in service                          £....what you can afford
*Hardship/low pay                       £....what you can afford

No concessions are offered for Stop Smoking. If you're serious about
stopping then you'll be in profit by mid week 2, if not earlier, and then
forever after at c. £4K per year.

*For practical reasons I must limit the number of people I see, per week, who are paying on a ‘what you can afford’ basis, so I may have to ask you to wait, but it’s worth noting that I almost never have that many. This may be because people are proud, or don’t quite trust the offer, but it is real, no proof of hardship is needed, the only people who know our financial arrangement are us, and if you’ve been traumatised in service then I’m proud to help.

Further information

I am an experienced practitioner, in therapy terms, but also in general life experience, including 30 years nursing, and 8 years as a Company Director.

I have extensive experience in dealing with the general public in what can be sometimes the most distressing and difficult of circumstances.

I bring all of this to my hypnotherapy practice, so if you want acceptance and to be heard with friendly respect in an informal, supportive environment, by somebody who has real life experience, then give me a ring, and we'll take it from there, together.
