About me

Dr Susan Chan is a validated and licensed senior hypnotherapist who specialises in long-lasting changes in health and well-being. By creating a pause, let go of anxiety and reconnect with your mind, body, and inner self. Areas of hypnotherapy I deal with

info Information about health conditions (*)

Hypnotherapy can enhance the well-being of individuals diagnosed with serious medical conditions, but should not take the place of medical treatment and advice. If you have been diagnosed with - or suspect you may have - any of these conditions, please speak to your doctor before starting hypnotherapy.

Other areas of hypnotherapy I deal with

Susan is a qualified teacher of Mindfulness and Mindfulness Stress Reduction. What is Mindfulness?

Mindfulness is a life skill which can deepen our sense of well-being and fulfilment. In this hectic and chaotic world it allows you to find a more calm and thoughtful way to live. It engages all our senses, so that you become aware of your body, emotions, thoughts and the world around.

What are the benefits?

If you practise mindfulness, you will become more aware of your physical and emotional state. You will focus on being ‘in the moment’ and become aware and in tune with your self and your immediate environment. If you live ‘in the moment’, you need not live in the past or worry about the future. Mindfulness can help you to make decisions that will change behaviour and lifestyle choices. Mindfulness allows you to change positively. In a sense, mindfulness offers a different path, away from stress and anxiety and on a route in the direction of healing, calmness and awareness.
Susan runs courses and workshops in Mindfulness and Mindfulness Stress Reduction. Contact her directly for details of the next workshop.

Further information

Susan has been helping people to make a positive change for over 16 years. My background includes working with people in SW Scotland, Glasgow, Edinburgh, and beyond. Clients know Susan as a clinical hypnotherapist, psychotherapist, and change consultant. We often find ourselves caught in a rut, and it can take courage and belief to change anything that sits heavy on our minds and bodies. In my time helping people change their deeply ingrained habits and behaviours, clients grow in self-esteem and shed off layers bit by bit to gain confidence and set themselves free. By working holistically together, we tap into your resources to help you make the changes to get your life back on track and find the best way to gain a happier life. You do not need to live with your anxieties, fears or phobias.

Susan also works in partnership with several local community groups and charities. She was an award winner with 'Mums in Control' (a national magazine) for inspiring others. The Association of Scottish Businesswomen (ASB) recognised Susan's work as a finalist for 'Most Enterprising (Scottish) Business. 'Outstanding Contribution to Business' and 'Best Charity/ Business Partnership'.

Susan has a wide range of interests and hobbies. Susan loves music and is an adventure traveller, whether in the rainforest of Borneo or on a camel trek in Morocco. She works with Ian Geddes, her partner who is also a Hypnotherapist and Life Coach.
