About me
Please note I ONLY work in the specialist areas of complex/developmental trauma (C-PTSD) and neurodiversity. I also ONLY combine conversational/analytical hypnotherapy with other appropriate therapy methods within the 3 Stage Trauma recovery model, a manualised treatment protocol as recommended by NICE.
I do NOT do general work, and I do NOT do "just hypnosis".
You are strongly advised to only consult a trauma specialist who adheres to the NICE clinical guidelines, which includes having a manualised treatment protocol (a method with strong clinical evidence of effectiveness), specialist training and knowledge of & competence in co-morbid conditions.
NICE guidelines forbid "trauma debriefing" as harmful and this should be avoided, along with similar practices where practitioners rush to process memories. "Quick fixes" are NOT possible with complex trauma and do not adhere to NICE clinical safety guidelines.
I have been a professional therapist since 1993, and I am certified as a clinical specialist in Complex Trauma (advanced) with Evergreen, Trauma Institute International, and the Trauma Research Foundation, having completed seven different post graduate specialism certifications, each with slightly different focus. I am also a Certified ASD / neurodiversity specialist. I am trained and certified as competent or "informed" (and insured) in a range of other trauma relevant therapy methods that are combined into the 3 stage protocol, including:
- Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT)
- Behavioural & Psychological Analysis
- Clinical Psychotherapy
- Counselling
- Dialectic Behavioural therapy (DBT)
- Radically Open DBT
- Internal Family Systems (IFS)
- Conversational Hypnosis
- Somatic Therapy methods
- Integrative Mental Health
- Nutrition for Mental Health
- Coaching & Psycho-education
- Neuro linguistic Programming (NLP)
- Trauma Functional Medicine
- Clinical Mindfulness (including MBSR & MBCT)
- Interpersonal Neurobiology
- Cognitive Behavioural Analysis System of Psychotherapy (CBASP)
Additional professional trainings with experts have included:
- Compassionate Inquiry
- Polyvagal Theory
- Brainspotting
- NLP Rewind
- Relational EMDR
- Breathwork
- Chi Gung
- Reiki
- Sensory methods with trauma
I have also completed clinical certification in related areas:
- Advanced Grief therapy
- Anger Management
- Anxiety
- Depression & Mood disorders
- ADHD management
I have studied with some of the best and leading experts in the field, (both Live and study courses) including Bessel Van Der Kolk, Steven Porges, Gabor Mate, Peter Levine, Dan Siegel, Ruth Lanius,
The 3 stage protocol is designed for people with complex and developmental trauma, and in brief entails:
- Stabilisation (many clients need calm and respite before addressing deeper issues)
- Processing the effects of having experienced traumatic experiences over time, finding and addressing the adaptations, behaviours and beliefs that come from having survived trauma (you do NOT need to remember or go over it all repeatedly!)
- Post traumatic growth, rebuilding life once you have your fresh start.
My practice is based in a custom office in the centre of Edinburgh, I also have limited online availability.

The British Association of Therapeutical Hypnotists (BAThH) was the first constituted body for Professional Hypnotherapists in the UK and a founder member of the United Kingdom Confederation of Hypnotherapy Organisations (UKCHO).

The CNHC encompasses many types of alternative therapy, including hypnotherapy.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Areas of hypnotherapy I deal with
info Information about health conditions (*)
Hypnotherapy can enhance the well-being of individuals diagnosed with serious medical conditions, but should not take the place of medical treatment and advice. If you have been diagnosed with - or suspect you may have - any of these conditions, please speak to your doctor before starting hypnotherapy.
Other areas of hypnotherapy I deal with
I specifically work with Complex/developmental trauma ( C-PTSD) and neurodiversity/neuro divergence (for example ASD, ADHD, dyslexia).
Other issues are only addressed as part of trauma cases.
I do not accept clients suffering active addiction. Clients must be reasonably stable before entering therapy for clinical safety, and therefore before booking an appointment or paying anything whatsoever, you will be asked to complete forms online that include CORE and GAD-7 screening to ensure service safety and compatibility.
