Steve Horrocks HPD, MNCH & CNHC. Weight, Anxiety, Sleep & Performance Specialist
I’m a full-time professional clinical hypnotherapist specialising in anxiety, sleep, weight and emotional issues.
Hearing from clients about how much they’ve got from their hypnotherapy sessions is incredibly rewarding and is a large part of what I find immensely satisfying about my work. Seeing my clients achieve the personal breakthroughs that are important to them is a tremendous privilege.
Recent client feedback includes:-
"Intelligent, warm, friendly man", "Other approaches never seemed to get to the bottom of my problems", "I was treated with the utmost respect and nothing was overlooked", "He filled me with confidence".
My main private hypnotherapy clinics are in central Norwich and Poringland, a pleasant commuter village just south of Norwich.
I offer free face-to-face initial consultations, either as stand-alone appointments or combined with an hour-long first hypnotherapy session at a discounted rate. At the end of your initial consultation I will provide you with an estimate of the number of sessions that I consider we are likely to need, based on the information you have shared with me.
My interest in NLP (Neuro-Linguistic Programming) began over 20 years ago in a business training context, and later, when I became drawn to using hypnosis for therapeutic purposes and personal change, I gained the HPD (Hypnotherapy Practitioner Diploma) as the foundation for my work with clients.
I see modern hypnotherapy as a way of supporting people gain more control and freedom in their lives in areas that they cannot seem to positively affect long-term through conscious determination and will-power alone.
By focussing on what we “do want” rather than what we “don’t want or fear”, hypnosis and hypnotherapy can be harnessed to help us experience life differently.
Releasing the emotional charge linked to past experiences and updating the personal significance of those historical events can also be helpful in supporting us achieve the life changes we want.
If you would like to know more about me, my approach to hypnotherapy, or to arrange an appointment, then do take a moment to contact me by phone, text or online form - I would be delighted to hear from you. Alternatively, you can click through to my website where there is a wealth of information to guide you.
My aim in working with clients is to support them achieve lasting success in relation to their personal goals in the smallest number of sessions possible.

I am a member of the National Council for Hypnotherapy (NCH). The NCH is the UK’s leading not-for-profit hypnotherapy professional association.
I am also registered with the Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council (CNHC). General Medical Council guidance to doctors confirms that they are able to refer patients to practitioners on accredited registers - this includes all CNHC registrants.
Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council
The CNHC encompasses many types of alternative therapy, including hypnotherapy.
In order to be admitted to the register a practitioner must have studied to the National Occupational Standards for that profession/discipline, or have reached the equivalent of the National Occupational Standards through other relevant training or at least three years of experience and been assessed by their peers.
A practitioner must also have professional insurance and agree to abide by the CNHC Code of Conduct, Performance and Ethics.
National Council for Hypnotherapy
The National Council for Hypnotherapy holds one of the largest registers of independent Hypnotherapists in the United Kingdom and strives to maintain the highest standards among its members.
There is an agreed Code of Conduct, an established Complaints & Disciplinary Procedure and all members are obliged to maintain comprehensive Public Liability & Professional Indemnity Insurance, maintain regular CPD (continuing professional development) hours, and attend Supervision when needed.
Accredited register membership
Accredited Register Scheme
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
