I am a fully Qualified and experienced Hypnotherapist. My approach is client centred and I specialise in emotionally related conditions. I am a member of the British Association of Counsellors and attend ongoing supervision.
I practice both hypnotherapy and counselling and have combined the two in my hypno-counselling approach. By communicating with the subconscious level of the mind where emotions are rooted and core beliefs held it is possible to assist clients through a wonderful process of change to help them accomplish their goal.
I have developed an integrated model using hypnosis and counselling that works well for a wide range of conditions such as:
- panic attacks
- anxiety states
- smoking cessation
- weight loss
- low self esteem
- sports motivation
- exam nerves
- sleep problems
- mind-body healing
- and many other conditions
- relaxation though pregnancy
- Creative visualisation
- releasing past negative beliefs
- Inner child rescue
- Accepting change
- Exam nerves
- Please contact me to ask if I can help you with your condition.
My hypnotic induction has been welcomed as a most calming and soothing experience.
"Dear Shirley, I thought it might be time for me to write to you and let you know I’ve been doing fine my panic attacks have stopped…Thank you very much, it has been lovely to forget about all the things that used to stress me out, thank you" from X
"Dear Shirley, I just wanted to say a proper thank you for the work you did with my daughter during the summer about her anxiety attacks. It is amazing to think how relaxed she is now and confident. She enjoys her life now as any well balanced 17 yr old girl should!! I remarked to her a short while ago how much she had moved on she couldn’t even remember how frightened and anxious she was!! Thank you so much Shirley, best wishes," XX
Training, qualifications & experience
I studied hypnotherapy at The Blue Stone Clinic, Upper Harley Street, London and qualified in 1986. Following on from a year in a Manchester Clinic I set up my practice in Llandudno, North Wales in 1987 and have been in practice ever since. My journey as a therapist has been one of development. I have attended therapists workshops and courses in my quest to develop my skills further. During the 1990s I completed a three year counselling course that covered a wide range of therapy approaches. I went on to complete my Masters Degree. All this coupled with 29 years of experience (March 2015) brings me to where I am now.
Through this time I have worked with a diverse range of conditions and am pleased to say I enjoy a high success rate.
The essence of my approach is about the connection between now and the past. I respect the power of the subconscious to uncover the root of the condition presented which then leads on to the process of change.
All therapy is delivered while the client is in hypnosis.
