About me
I am an experienced Cognitive Hypnotherapist with over 18 years’ experience working with individuals, young people, and couples. I offer a safe, confidential, and supportive space where you can explore your thoughts, emotions, and patterns, and begin to create lasting change.
We are all unique, and the way we experience difficulties is personal to each of us. This belief sits at the heart of my work. Cognitive Hypnotherapy allows me to tailor each session specifically to you, rather than using a one-size-fits-all approach. I work in a collaborative way, using a range of therapeutic techniques chosen to suit how you think and what you want to achieve.
I am trained to listen closely to both what you say and how you say it. This helps me identify unhelpful patterns that may be contributing to unwanted behaviours, emotions, or thought processes. During the initial consultation, we explore your goals and identify the most effective approach to support you. Many clients are surprised by the positive changes they experience in just a few sessions.
Hypnotherapy works by accessing the subconscious mind, where many automatic habits and emotional responses are formed. It uses natural, everyday trance states — such as becoming absorbed in a book or driving on autopilot. This is not stage hypnosis; you remain aware, in control, and actively involved throughout the process.
As a Cognitive Hypnotherapist and Clarity Coach, I believe that people already have the resources they need to overcome their difficulties. My role is to help you access those resources and apply them in a way that supports lasting change. Clients often report feeling more in control, calmer, and better able to manage life’s challenges.
I am a trauma-informed therapist, trained in Compassionate Inquiry and Advanced EMDR, and I work with the mind and body as an integrated system. Trauma can affect both emotional and physical wellbeing, and my approach supports gentle re-integration of these experiences. While we cannot change the past, we can change how it affects you in the present.
I am also a trained Safe and Sound Protocol (SSP) Practitioner. SSP is an evidence-based listening programme designed to support nervous system regulation, particularly for trauma, anxiety, and social communication difficulties.
If you are unsure whether hypnotherapy is right for you, I offer a free initial consultation. The therapeutic relationship is important, and it’s essential that you feel comfortable before beginning your therapy journey.
