Sarah Ariss B.A (Hons) HPD, DipCHyp, NLP MPrac, MNCH, CNHC
During the Coronavirus crisis I will be working online to support clients in the best way possible.
I have put together a guide to help you and, if you are not sure about online work, I am offering a free 20 minute chat, online, so you can see how it feels.
I have also reduced my fees for the duration as I know that people are struggling not only emotionally, but financially too.
If you contact me via email I can send you the link to my SoundCloud account where I am uploading free, calming and relaxing recordings.
I am uploading daily videos to my Facebook page Sarah Ariss Cognitive Hypnotherapy. These provide support, tips and, hopefully, a friendly face during these difficult times.
We can get through this. Look after yourself and keep well.
Cognitive Hypnotherapy in Welwyn Garden City, Hertfordshire.
Hello and welcome to my page. My name is Sarah Ariss and I am an experienced Cognitive Hypnotherapist. Over the years I have worked with clients suffering from a range of issues - from Anxiety and Depression to IBS and Gambling Addiction. For me, the most important thing is not to label you, but to help you, as a person, move forward in life to a place where you can feel happier, calmer and more confident.
I love working as a therapist and my aim is to give you the best care possible. The work we do together is about you, the client, and I will do the best I can to help you feel comfortable and safe in our sessions.
I offer face to face sessions, but also online sessions using Zoom. This service is available to clients within the UK.
My practice is based in Welwyn Garden City, in lovely private rooms, with free parking and a warm, welcoming atomosphere.
Cognitive Hypnotherapy is a gentle talking therapy that is evidence based and works in a client focused way to move you from where you are now to the place and person you want to be. I use hypnotherapy alongside aspects of CBT, Positive Psychology, Neuro Linguistic Programming or NLP and Gestalt. We work at your pace, with your well being in mind.
I am fully insured and hold an enhanced DBS certificate. I am also a member of the government's Complementary and Natural Health Care Council, as well as the Quest Cognitive Hypnotherapy Professional Association. Being a member of these associations means that I have attained a high level of training, continue to enhance my training and work to a strict code of ethics.
For me, you are the important person in the therapy partnership. The sessions are relaxed and non-judgmental with the aim of us working together as a team so that you can achieve change that lasts.
How Many Sessions Will I Need & How Much Will It Cost?
On average I see clients for between 3 and 6 sessions. It is possible, however, that I will see you for more sessions than this, or fewer.
Each session is £80.
What Can Hypnotherapy help?
Just because something has been in your life for a long time, does not mean it has to be there forever. Sometimes we need help to enable us to break free of a negative loop of behaviour.
Cognitive Hypnotherapy can help many problems - among them Anxiety, Fears and Limiting Beliefs, Unwanted Habits and generally feeling stuck for some reason.
Sometimes we can't put a name to how we feel. We just know that we need help.
This form of therapy can help track down those negative thoughts and feelings and take away the emotion, the pain, leaving a calmness that enables you to work towards living the life you really want to live.
I love helping people to start on that road. We start together, but after a while you won't need me because you will have found your strength again.
Each client who comes to see me receives a tailor-made treatment plan. This means that I write and record a tailor-made MP3 for each person - consolidating the work we do together in my Practice Rooms. I will send you a bespoke recording several times during the course of treatment, depending on your needs, always working to help you on that journey, moving little by little to the person you would like to be.
Complimentary Telephone Consultation.
I know that it takes courage to make an appointment and courage to talk to a stranger about something that is personal and upsetting to you. Over time I have found that being able to have a chat over the phone really helps my clients to make the decision as to whether I am the right therapist for them.
You are very welcome to contact me and arrange to chat about the sort of service I provide. We can talk about how I work and you are welcome to ask any questions.I know that Hypnotherapy is a bit of an unknown for lots of people!
If we decide that I am not the right therapist for you then perhaps I can help you to find someone who is.

If you have been diagnosed or suspect you may have one of the medical conditions starred above, you should consult your GP for advice, diagnosis and treatment and always inform your health professional before starting any alternative or additional therapies or treatments.
I always begin with a complimentary telephone consultation so that we can both gain an understanding of your needs and the service I offer.
The first session will last approximately 90 minutes.
Subsequent sessions will last for 1 hour.
All sessions are charged at a reduced cost of £60 for the duration of the coronavirus. Payment would be by bank transfer.
What Clients Say...
”Sarah, Words can’t really express how grateful I am for your help last week. Thanks to you I was able to have the most amazing weekend without a single wobble…you were so calm, understanding, empathetic & non-judgmental. Thank you!” J, Teacher, 48, Herts
” She is a changed child, she’s more confident in her life, she doesn’t worry about going away (only the normal 15 yr old having the right things!) and often she doesn’t even call.
It’s so wonderful to see, neither my husband or I say anything to her as I remember you saying she will see it all as normal. She even comes home and says she’s enjoyed her time.
Thank you so much for your time and patience… You do the most amazing therapy. I was so worried before we came.”
