In life we can sometimes find we need a little help and sometimes it can feels as if that help is just not available or we are so stuck we cannot see the wood for the trees! Many of my clients tell me they did not realise just how much they suffering or being affected by their unwanted, negative thoughts, behaviours and symptoms.They were suffering except is was a slow build and they didn't notice the effect it was having until things became too much. This is a classic scenario and most people will relate to this because it is not until the veil is lifted that we see clearly. I do not see the difference between mental and physical health, the brain is part of the body and can influence so much of our lives in the same way an illness affects our mood and functionality. I also believe everyone is susceptible to mental health concerns because after all, we are all human and will all experience some kind of trauma in our lives.
I offer a course of treatment (often between 4 and 12 sessions over 1 yr) which provides positive, effective and lasting change. Knowledge and understanding cannot be lost and when you discover a technique that improves performance then you either choose to use it or not. but the knowledge and the understanding remain for a lifetime. There is no mystery to what I teach because hypnosis or guided visualisation is a natural phenomenon. I seek to empower all my clients, giving them the knowledge they need to create the confidence and control they desire to create the positive changes they want in their lives.

As well as working with clinical and complicated conditions I am also skilled in sports performance hypnosis having been involved in sport all my life as a competitor, a coach and a mentor. I still compete although not to the gold medal standards of my youth!
Training, qualifications & experience
I am a fully qualified Hypnotherapist trained at the prestigious C.P.H.T. in London. I hold a DHP in Hypnotherapy and I am a member of the Association for Solution Focused Hypnotherapy (AfSFH) as well as a member of the Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council (CNHC).
I attend monthly professional development sessions in order to keep my knowledge to the highest standards possible. I am fully insured.
I specialise in Solution Focused Hypnotherapy, utilising the latest research from neurosciene in order to be as up to date as possible. I monitor the progress of each of my client on a weekly basis ensuring they achieve their goals. I do not ask clients to revisit problems of the past in order for them to achieve their goals.

Association for Solution Focused Hypnotherapy
The Association for Solution Focused Hypnotherapy (AfSFH) was set up to provide information about a modern form of Hypnotherapy and its associated benefits to members of the public. The main aim of the AfSFH is to spread awareness of the benefits of Solution Focused Hypnotherapy. Its secondary aim is to support Hypnotherapists in their businesses by encouraging good practice and self-care.
Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council
The CNHC encompasses many types of alternative therapy, including hypnotherapy.
In order to be admitted to the register a practitioner must have studied to the National Occupational Standards for that profession/discipline, or have reached the equivalent of the National Occupational Standards through other relevant training or at least three years of experience and been assessed by their peers.
A practitioner must also have professional insurance and agree to abide by the CNHC Code of Conduct, Performance and Ethics.
National Council for Hypnotherapy
The National Council for Hypnotherapy holds one of the largest registers of independent Hypnotherapists in the United Kingdom and strives to maintain the highest standards among its members.
There is an agreed Code of Conduct, an established Complaints & Disciplinary Procedure and all members are obliged to maintain comprehensive Public Liability & Professional Indemnity Insurance, maintain regular CPD (continuing professional development) hours, and attend Supervision when needed.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Hypnotherapy can enhance the well-being of individuals diagnosed with serious medical conditions, but should not take the place of medical treatment and advice. If you have been diagnosed with - or suspect you may have - any of these conditions, please speak to your doctor before starting hypnotherapy.
Initial consultation -Complimentary and by appointment
Individual client sessions are £100 per session and last approximately 1hr.
Below is an outline of the treatment plan and a guide to the likely number of sessions
"I offer a free Initial Consultation to ensure you have the opportunity to select the right therapy and therapist as well as for me to ensure I am able to help you achieve your aims. During the consultation I will be able to explain in detail Solution Focused Hypnotherapy and listen to what you would like to see improve or cope with better. It is important for me that this consultation comes with no financial obligations whilst a treatment plan is discussed and agreed upon.
Sessions should (where possible) be weekly during the first month or so in order for the treatment to be the most effective. As with all forms of learning or training, regularity in the early stages leads to better results, both in the short and the long term. All treatment plans will be discussed on a case by case basis because ultimately it is down to the individual to decide the time frame and investment they wish to make. If you wish to work within a budget then please do let me know as there are many options available and payment plans can be created if necessary.
Once a client has achieved or sufficiently progressed, the sessions would be spaced out in order to support a client whilst they 'perfect & maintain' the positive changes they have successfully made. This is on a case by case basis but often follows a gap of a few weeks, then a 1 month, then x3 months, then once a year if desired or a client feels would be necessary. Therefore a course of 8-12 sessions would be weekly, then monthly then quarterly as a client improves.
The number of treatments required is down to the individual case presented. I have helped many people enormously after the initial consultation and one follow up treatment and for some it has taken a little longer to achieve their goals. My experience tells me however the best results come from a short course of sessions with 'top ups' to follow as and when needed. This again is dependent upon the complexity of the issue or circumstance presented In some cases I will see individuals regularly over a few months as we work in multiple areas of their life resolving many small things in order to create the space to improve the larger concern. Evidence also shows regular 'top-up' sessions helps enormously to create permanent and lasting change."

As a person who have suffered multiple traumas both as a child and as a young adult I have always seen myself as broken in some way. Many of my experiences were hidden from me, in that I had very few memories, but manifested in my life as physical and psychological pain and I was diagnosed with PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Syndrome). From what I had read and from what my doctors told me I had had to come to terms with the fact that this was something incredibly difficult to treat and recover from, and that it probably was something that I would have to live with for the rest of my life. Prior to starting the hypnotherapy I had suffered from sleep deprivation for many years, but had started suffering from nightmares, anxiety-attacks and was diagnosed with severe depression. It is an understatement that Solution focused hypnotherapy saved my life. Even though it sounds dramatic, it is the truth. After three months of weekly sessions my sleep-pattern is now back to normal, meaning I enjoy full night sleep and rarely suffer from nightmares. I have learned to control my anxiety and I have also gained the confidence to unearth hidden memories. The biggest change that the hypnotherapy has accomplished is that I now look forward to living my life, rather than just surviving it, and that is the greatest gift of all! I no longer regard myself as broken, instead I have mended myself and become something amazing and beautiful!"

However, with weekly sessions over the next few months, Richard taught me to look at my situation in a completely different way. Your sessions with you have completely changed my life.
When I first came to you I was quite regularly drinking a bottle of wine a night, and on the weekends much more. I felt like I was in a rut that I could not escape, especially as I suffered addiction problems as a teenager and admittedly was dubious about the type of therapy as I had never tried it before. I have been through lots of cognitive therapy, which helped with some work on myself, but I was at a time (and still am) where I didn't need to keep going back over it all, I wanted and needed to move forward and gain some positivity into my life and head!!
After the 6th session, annoyingly work called and I was unable to come back, I didn't think I could achieve what we had been working on with it being cut that short, but I suddenly became aware that I was drinking less and less days a week and then that I was no longer drinking on a worknight, my night anxiety was gone and my positivity and happiness had started to come back!! I'm not saying my life is perfect but for me this has been everything and seems only to be getting better.

I am starting this new year with a completely different outlook than the one I had 12 months ago and that is thanks to the help you provided me in restoring my ability to say no to my anxiety! Whilst there are still things I struggle with, it's a lot easier for me to see a way out of the horrible hole that is anxiety and that makes all the difference. It is also so reassuring knowing whenever I need to I can message you and arrange another session.
