About me
Hi, I'm Michelle from Bright Thinking Therapies.
I am highly qualified and experienced Solution Focused Therapist and Clinical Hypnotherapist and have trained in CBT for menopause by The British Menopause Society. I support people to make changes to the way they think and behave, by reducing anxiety and stress, and ultimately helping them to feel better, calmer and more in control. I believe that when we have greater control over our mental health then we are able to make healthier choices which can lead to a brighter and happier life.
My qualifications include MSc (Psychology), BSc (Nursing), CBT for Menopause (British Menopause Society), Hypnotherapy Practitioner Diploma (HPD), Diploma in Medical Hypnotherapy, Diploma in Solution Focused Hypnotherapy and Psychotherapy (DSFH), and Certificate in Solution Focused Practice (BRIEF).
I pride myself on keeping up to date with the most contemporary way of working, using evidence-based therapy techniques and methods to help people to improve their lives. My approach is Solution Focused which means that you don't necessarily need to visit past, sometimes painful, experiences but instead we will work together to help you to find a way to cope with the present and make changes which will help you move towards your preferred brighter future.
At Bright Thinking Therapies, I can offer a wide range of evidence based therapy options to meet your needs. Whether you're looking for help with stress & anxiety, weight management, sleep disorders, or menopause symptoms, we will work together to find the right way to help you achieve your goals and brighter thinking.

I have been working as a therapist for many years and have experience in supporting adults and teenagers to reduce stress & anxiety & improve self confidence and self esteem.
I have trained in CBT by The British Menopause Society to manage symptoms of the menopause. Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) is recommended by NICE (2015) for women experiencing anxiety and stress during perimenopause and post menopause. Anxiety is a common symptom during menopause and experiencing hot flushes can exacerbate the problem. CBT techniques can help alleviate anxiety and stress, depressed mood, hot flushes and night sweats, sleep problems and fatigue. This can give you practical ways to manage but can also help you to develop new skills and strategies to cope with any difficulties, which can lead to an overall improvement in wellbeing.
I have insurance and enhanced DBS clearance to work with people of all ages.
