About me
This page isn't about me. It's about You, if you suffer with anxiety and panic attacks.
Your head is like a wasps nest as you replay thoughts or situations again and again. You just can't face some situations and are running out of excuses or you pluck up the courage to go and your body and mind are screaming get me out of here - now. Your heart's beating out of your chest, it feels like you can't breathe. You're spiralling out of control, the harder you try the worse it seems to get, you don't know how to fix it. Maybe your sleep is effected or a few drinks help you to get to sleep. It's getting harder to cope. It's exhausting. Something has to change, and you want to change, but just don't know how.
I've been there too. Some years ago I was in the same position as you - contemplating hypnotherapy and wondering if it would work. The short answer is it did and it transformed my life. That's why I do what I do.
I specialise in treating anxiety, panic attacks and sleep issues and have helped hundreds of people just like you using evidence based techniques that really work. There's no 'woo woo', no delving into the past, no regression.
If you're ready to make a change the first step is booking your FREE initial consultation to find out how I can help you.
As you'd expect I'm fully insured and a highly qualified Clinical Hypnotherapist. I work from my home in Jordanstown, serving clients in Newtownabbey, North Belfast, Belfast and beyond throughout Co Antrim and Co Down.
If you're ready to make that change you know what to do. Email today to arrange your FREE consultation.
Training, qualifications & experience
Training
I specialise in treating anxiety based issues including panic attacks, fears and phobias and sleep issues.
As as an evidence-based and ethical practitioner I choose not to use regression (going back to childhood experiences). While this method, sometimes referred to as timeline therapy) is still widely used it can retraumatise clients, create false memories and lacks an evidence base.
Initially I trained at The Surrey Institute of Clinical Hypnotherapy where I earned a Hypnotherapy Practitioner Diploma (HPD) - the most respected, university standard, professional qualification in my field. I went on to train as a Mindful Mamma hypnobirthing practitioner after successfully using the techniques for the birth of our daughter. I continued my hypnotherapy training with Adam Eason - a leading hypnotherapist - in 2014, and use evidence-based techniques.
I am a registered member of:
- The National Council for Hypnotherapy (NCH) - the largest not-for-profit hypnotherapy professional association in the UK.
- Complementary & Natural Healthcare Council (CNHC) - the UK regulator for complementary healthcare practitioners, including Hypnotherapists.
The Department of Health recommends that, when looking for a hypnotherapist, you consult with someone like me who is CNHC registered.
Member organisations
The National Council for Hypnotherapy holds one of the largest registers of independent Hypnotherapists in the United Kingdom and strives to maintain the highest standards among its members.
There is an agreed Code of Conduct, an established Complaints & Disciplinary Procedure and all members are obliged to maintain comprehensive Public Liability & Professional Indemnity Insurance, maintain regular CPD (continuing professional development) hours, and attend Supervision when needed.
The CNHC encompasses many types of alternative therapy, including hypnotherapy.
In order to be admitted to the register a practitioner must have studied to the National Occupational Standards for that profession/discipline, or have reached the equivalent of the National Occupational Standards through other relevant training or at least three years of experience and been assessed by their peers.
A practitioner must also have professional insurance and agree to abide by the CNHC Code of Conduct, Performance and Ethics.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
