About me
Hello! I’m Heather Sinfield, a qualified Cognitive Hypnotherapist based in Horam, offering both face-to-face sessions and secure online work via Zoom. If you're struggling with anxiety, stress, low self-esteem, or any habit, belief or emotional issue that’s holding you back, I’m here to help you find calm, confidence, and a more fulfilling way of living.
What I Do & How I Work
I practice Quest Cognitive Hypnotherapy (QCH), integrating techniques from hypnotherapy, positive psychology, NLP and cognitive theory. This lets me tailor every treatment plan to the individual your worldview, your strengths, your needs.
My aim is to help you reframe how your mind responds—to reduce anxiety, increase confidence, release unhelpful patterns, and move forward with clarity. We’ll work together to develop your own toolkit of strategies and coping techniques so you can continue growing between sessions.
Typical concerns I help with include: anxiety & stress, loss & bereavement, menopause, low self-esteem, confidence issues, phobias, people-pleasing, relationship challenges, smoking cessation, weight management, misophonia and Long Covid.
My Background
I hold a BSc (Hons) in Psychology, plus HPD (Hypnotherapy Practitioner Diploma), a Diploma in Cognitive Hypnotherapy, and I’m an NLP Practitioner.
Before training in Cognitive Hypnotherapy, I worked supporting bereaved parents via the Child Death Helpline at Great Ormond Street Hospital. Later, I gained experience in corporate settings, so I understand how stressors and demands can affect both professional and personal life.
After contracting Covid, I made the decision to train with the Quest Institute (taught by Trevor Silvester, founder of QCH & WordWeaving), which deeply shaped my understanding of how hypnosis and the mind can heal and change.
What You Can Expect
A warm, safe, non-judgemental therapy space–either in my peaceful therapy room in Horam, or via Zoom from the comfort of your own home.
An initial free, no-obligation consultation so we can get to know one another, clarify what you want to achieve, and see how best I can support you.
Bespoke treatments—some clients prefer shorter, specific sessions; others choose longer programmes over several months. We adapt to your pace and what works best for you.
Why Choose Me
Because I believe you already hold many of the answers: my role is to help you access them, strengthen your coping strategies, and support you in making changes that last.
Because my therapy is evidence-informed: Cognitive Hypnotherapy has been researched, showing strong outcomes for anxiety and depression and often faster improvement than many talking therapies alone.
If you feel stuck, overwhelmed, or simply ready for things to shift, let’s talk. It could be the start of a new chapter—one where you feel more in control, more resilient, more yourself.

NOTHING IS OUT OF REACH WITH COGNITIVE HYPNOTHERAPY…
Using a large number of interchangeable techniques drawing from Hypnotherapy, Positive Psychology and NLP (Neurolinguistic Programming) allows me to treat each client as an individual and create a bespoke treatment plan based on the client’s model of the world.
As a practitioner of Quest Cognitive Hypnotherapy, I believe that each client already has the tools they need to help themselves. My job is to work with them to develop those tools and their strengths with coping strategies in order that they can achieve the change they desire.
People enter into a state of trance every day of their lives without realising it. Have you ever driven a familiar journey and when you reach your destination have no recollection of the journey? This is an example of everyday trance and it is this state that I will utilise with you in your sessions with me.
