About me
Hello! I’m Denise Palmer, a dedicated Clinical Hypnotherapist and Psychotherapist with a passion for helping individuals overcome the obstacles that hold them back. Using a client-centred approach, I combine hypnotherapy with tools from transactional analysis and cognitive-behavioural therapy (CBT) to empower you to take charge of your life.
Many clients come to me seeking support for specific challenges, such as overcoming social anxiety that affects their relationships and career, managing stress and overwhelm from balancing work and family responsibilities, or breaking free from self-doubt and negative thought patterns that hold them back from pursuing their goals. Whether you’re facing these challenges or something else entirely, I provide tailored support to help you build confidence, manage emotions, and rediscover your inner resilience. Together, we’ll work towards achieving the clarity, balance, and well-being you deserve.
Training, qualifications & experience
I am a CNHC and NSTT registered Clinical Hypnotherapist and a trainee member of the UKCP, with extensive additional psychotherapeutic training. I work integratively, drawing on approaches including CBT, Gestalt, Transactional Analysis, and Ericksonian techniques. This blended model allows me to tailor therapy to each client’s individual needs, supporting meaningful, sustainable change rather than short-term symptom relief.
Member organisations
The CNHC encompasses many types of alternative therapy, including hypnotherapy.
In order to be admitted to the register a practitioner must have studied to the National Occupational Standards for that profession/discipline, or have reached the equivalent of the National Occupational Standards through other relevant training or at least three years of experience and been assessed by their peers.
A practitioner must also have professional insurance and agree to abide by the CNHC Code of Conduct, Performance and Ethics.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
