About me
Is there something you long to achieve, but self-doubt keeps holding you back? Or perhaps something you’ve been avoiding dealing with, time and time again? Maybe it’s a habit you’ve outgrown, or maybe it’s time to leave things in the past. It could be the recent evidence on vaping or fad diets or short term fixes.
If any of this resonates, and you’re ready to make the change, I can help.
Hi, I’m Beckie. Many of the clients I work with come to me feeling stuck and disheartened. They’ve often tried different approaches, only to find themselves back at the same point facing the same hurdle, climbing the same exhausting uphill path that seems to get steeper each time. It can feel frustrating and demoralising, but it doesn’t have to continue like this.
I understand how hard it can be. When something impacts multiple areas of your life, it can start to feel all-encompassing almost as though it’s become part of who you are. But it isn’t. I truly believe that everyone has the capacity to change, grow, and move forward, even if it doesn’t feel possible right now.
As a Gold Standard Therapist, my clients are always at the heart of my work. I don’t use “off-the-shelf” programmes. Instead, I create personalised treatment plans and bespoke sessions tailored specifically to you and your goals. I’m committed to continually developing my skills, so I have a wide range of effective tools to support you not only during our sessions, but also with techniques you can continue to use long after our work together ends.
You might be wondering: ‘why hypnotherapy?’
I once asked the same question. Like many people, my early understanding was shaped by what I’d seen on television, which often felt staged and unrealistic or even something that was spiritual. That changed when I began to learn about the science behind hypnotherapy and how the mind works. It was a real light-bulb moment suddenly, when everything just seemed to fall into place and made complete sense.
I was first introduced to hypnotherapy while training as a counsellor, where my initial year focused on hypnotherapy practice. I saw first-hand the meaningful changes people were able to make, and I knew this was the therapeutic approach I wanted to specialise in, so I concentrated on hypnotherapy and decided not to continue with the counselling.
Hypnotherapy helps us address these issues by forming new patterns in the brain. Without these new patterns, we may continue behaviours that no longer benefit us, such as anxiety, substance use, or comfort eating. These patterns are learned and habitual, often developed as ways to keep us safe. With understanding and compassion, we can recognise when these strategies are no longer needed and begin to outgrow them. After all, we always cope in the best way we know how at the time.
What I learned during in my training, and what I see continuously see with my clients is that we have far more control than we often realise, and the key is knowing how to access it. This is what makes hypnotherapy so powerful. Rather than focusing on what’s “wrong,” it works towards positive change, solutions, and moving forward.
If you’re ready to address something that’s been holding you back and make positive changes in your life, please contact me because I’d love to work with you via online one to one session to reach your goal.
I look forward to speaking with you.
