Annette Sloly BA Hons. DHP HPD
Hello, I’m Annette Sloly and I am an experienced Registered Clinical Hypnotherapist BA Hons. DHP HPD DSFH CNHC MNCH (Reg) With a lifelong interest in mindfulness, neuroscience, and corporate experience, it is my privilege to help people build the resilience they need to manage anxiety and stress and ultimately lead happier lives.
Being wholly committed to my personal and professional development; as well as cultivating curiosity and compassion over the years has helped me hone my approach and informs my work in the areas of fear, anxiety, and stress. I have had the pleasure of working with a range of people from all walks of life in both the public and private sectors as well as in specialist areas of performance psychology – fear of public speaking, stage fright, and optimal performance in the performing arts and sports performance.
‘Annette has been fantastically helpful for me, straight from the first session I was sure that I’d made the right decision in booking a session. She has really helped me transform how I deal with stressful situations. I am now able to take a step back from challenges and think clearly in making decisions. In addition to this she’s helped me learn stress reduction and mindfulness techniques, which have helped me to really develop a feeling of calmness and reduce anxiety. This has had an immense impact on my life as I feel I can now be myself in all situations, without stress and anxiety holding me back.’
Laura, 36, Bristol.

My journey is one of transformation: it’s the motivation behind my vocation and the positive change I seek to inspire in others. Following family trauma in my early teens, I suffered from PTSD that affected my self-esteem, confidence and performance. Through therapy and personal practice, I learnt how to feel more comfortable within myself, and better manage distorted thought patterns and emotions. This empowering sense of control and resilience improved my quality of life and my ability to cope with problems – it was life-changing. My interest in helping people; my curiosity and interest in psychology and personal stories grew out of understanding character and performance, as well as interactions with friends, family members, mentoring students and team members – I have always had an empathy for other people’s problems. After 10 years of experience working in private and public sector roles, I went on to explore the mind and body in greater depth, both through academic study and personal practice, later qualifying as a Clinical Hypnotherapist.
Outside of the office, I deepen my understanding of mindfulness and compassionate awareness through daily practice, as well as attending CPDs, retreats and workshops. Having performed and written content for Radio and TV, I understand the challenges and joys associated with creative expression; I am a classically trained Violinist and hold a BA Hons (The University of Kent) and diplomas in the arts. My interests include reading, meditation, theatre, classical art, archaeology, and history. I enjoy hiking, running, kayaking, pilates and yoga and spending time with my family in nature. Having lived most of my life in London, I moved to Bristol 13 years ago, so I split my time between both cities. I support The National Trust, Surfers Against Sewage, TreeSisters and CREATE, the UK’s leading charity empowering lives through the creative arts.
