It gives me great purpose to help people build self-confidence, self-esteem and resilience to manage fear stress and anxiety and ultimately lead happier lives. ‘Annette has been fantastically helpful for me, straight from the first session I was sure that I’d made the right decision in booking a session. She has really helped me transform how I deal with stressful situations. I am now able to take a step back from challenges and think clearly in making decisions. In addition to this she’s helped me learn stress reduction and mindfulness techniques, which have helped me to really develop a feeling of calmness and reduce anxiety. This has had an immense impact on my life as I feel I can now be myself in all situations, without stress and anxiety holding me back.’

It is a great privilege to help people manage fear, stress and anxiety – and ultimately lead happier lives. I am an experienced Clinical Hypnotherapist, with a lifelong personal interest in meditation, a rich performing arts history, and corporate experience heading up teams in production and project management. This multi-faceted experience has helped me hone my approach: a synthesis of therapeutic disciplines that informs and supports my work – with everyone from undergraduates suffering from exam anxiety and professionals struggling to manage stress, to world-class recording artists and actors looking to improve their performance. I specialise in areas of performance psychology – stage fright and optimal performance in public speaking, the performing arts and sports performance.
My journey is one of transformation: it’s the motivation behind my vocation and the positive change I seek to inspire in others. Following family trauma in my early teens, I suffered from anxiety including PTSD, that affected my confidence and performance. Through therapy and personal practice, I learnt how to manage distorted thought patterns and feelings, and the empowering sense of control and resilience this gave me – it was life changing. My interest in helping people achieve goals grew out of my interactions with friends, family members, mentoring students and team members – I have always had an empathy for peoples’ problems. I went on to explore the mind and body in more detail, both through academic study and personal practice, later qualifying as a Clinical Hypnotherapist & Psychotherapist.
Outside of the office, I deepen my understanding of mindfulness and compassionate awareness through daily practice, as well as attending CPDs, retreats and workshops. I have performed on Radio and Television so understand the challenges of performance; I am a classically trained Violinist, and hold a BA Hons in Drama & English Literature (The University of Kent). My interests include watching comedy and drama, reading, meditation, theatre, international relations, history and teaching my son the power of curiosity. I enjoy hiking and spending time in nature, as well as practising yoga and pilates and learning to play the Harp. Having lived most of my life in London, I moved to Bristol 12 years ago, so I split my time between both cities. I support The Inspiring Leadership Trust, an international campaign to inspire and empower vulnerable women and their families to achieve their full potential.
