About me
Hi, I'm Alice and I'm a Hypnotherapist and counsellor. I started Mind Mend Therapy as I wanted to offer something accessible, relatable and simple for clients that perhaps find traditional therapy overwhelming or hard to engage with. At Mind Mend Therapy, I believe that therapy should be tailored to each individual's unique needs. That's why I take a pluralistic approach, combining the most effective techniques from various therapeutic modalities. The greatest hits approach if you like!
Mind Mend Therapy is committed to fostering resilience and promoting mental health through evidence-based practices. Ethics are key and are essential for building a strong foundation of trust and respect between therapists and clients. I prioritise creating a safe environment where confidentiality is upheld and client autonomy is honoured. By following ethical guidelines, providing effective support that promotes well-being, fostering a positive therapeutic relationship that encourages personal growth and healing, ensuring that you feel heard, understood, and supported every step of the way.
Training, qualifications & experience
- AIM Qualification Level 4 in Hypnotherapy and Counselling Skills
- Level 5 Psychotherapeutic and Counselling
- Level 4 Diploma in Counselling Skills and Theory
- Member of National Hypnotherapy Society & National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society.
My work as a therapist began 3 years ago- working on a voluntary basis then building up to professional client work. I would say my niche as a therapist is working with client surrounding childhood trauma, anxiety and self esteem issues. I find this work very rewarding and relatable as having been through much of the issues myself, I am able to put myself in my clients shoes and explore thoughts, feelings and behaviours from a theoretical, empathic and professional place.
I volunteer weekly at a children's charity in Southampton, which provides me with so much learning and development as a therapist. I love the challenges that working with young people brings and the teaching that I receive into my private practice is second to none.
