QHHT: The extraordinary benefits of talking with your Higher Self

Most people have heard about past life regression, and now an increasing number of people are curious about QHHT (Quantum Healing Hypnosis Technique).

In case you’re not familiar with the concept of QHHT, let me explain that it is a very specific form of past life regression that was created by Dolores Cannon, a remarkable hypnotist and author of many books, who passed on in 2014.

What makes QHHT different from Past Life Regression?

Good question! The simple answer is that every session includes a conversation with the client’s Higher Self. Now you’re probably even more mystified, wondering if the practitioner has to be a psychic medium who calls upon the Higher Self and channels the responses. Not at all!  Let me tell you how it goes…

In the first part of the session, the practitioner guides the client into the deeper state of hypnosis, called somnambulism. They are still wide awake and able to think, speak and respond clearly, whilst being able to focus inwards on whatever they are being shown.

We then ask the Higher Self to show the client the most appropriate experience for them. (Please note the use of the word ‘appropriate’, which in this case means that we are asking the client’s Higher Self to determine what the client most needs to experience, for their greater knowledge and healing.)

Not sure who or what is the Higher Self?

This is the greater part of us that has a closer connection to The Source, God, Universe, or whatever name we choose to give that ‘something’ that is the originator of all-that-is.

The Higher Self (HS) knows everything about us, both in our current life and all the other lives we may have lived, and will happily reveal the cause of mental or physical ailments. It also has limitless knowledge and the ability to heal the physical body.

What might the Higher Self show you?

In many cases, the client does get to experience a past life, and sometimes more than one, but occasionally they are taken on a mystical journey, or they may even be taken to several childhood experiences in this, their current life. Wherever they go, the practitioner follows, asking questions to help the client make sense of what they’re being shown.

In the second part of the session, with the client still in hypnosis, the practitioner asks permission to speak to the client’s Higher Self and ask questions on their behalf. These questions will already have been provided by the client prior to the session, often after a lot of pen-chewing (figuratively-speaking!) as the list is normally limited to ten questions.

How does the Higher Self communicate?

If you’re wondering if the practitioner ‘channels’ the Higher Self, I’m about to disillusion you! Because the HS is a ‘part’ of you, it needs your voice to communicate. The client, still in hypnosis, stays in the background and allows the HS to use their voice and respond to the questions being asked by the practitioner. In some cases, the voice of the HS is quite different from the client’s normal voice – perhaps lower or deeper in tone, but not always.

What kind of questions can be asked?

The practitioner will always start this part of the session by asking why the HS chose to show the client that particular experience.

The most important next question is: ‘What is my life purpose?’, but others on the list might include the following:

  • Am I on the right path, or do I need to change my job/location?
  • Why am I feeling so blocked, and what advice can you give me to change this?
  • Did I choose my parents, and if so, why?
  • Have I had many lives? Can you tell me how many? Always in human form, or have I lived on other planets?
  • Why do I feel so lonely and often have the sense that I don’t belong here?
  • Am I meant to be with my current partner? What are the lessons we agreed to teach other?
  • Or… Will I meet someone special, and when will this happen?
  • Why do I have this illness/disability/painful condition? What can I do to improve it? Can you give me healing?

The experienced practitioner will know how best to ask the questions and also how to respond to the answers given by the HS.

Does the Higher Self have a personality?

From my perspective, I would say yes to this question. Sometimes they are more serious and occasionally quite funny; some give long and detailed answers, whereas others give short and succinct ones. The HS doesn’t hold back when giving advice. The client has requested information, and the HS gives it to them straight! It’s as if they’ve been waiting for this opportunity for a long time, and they’re not going to waste it by being too diplomatic!

Once all the questions have been thoroughly explored, the practitioner will ask the HS to do a scan of the client’s body and check all the organs to see if any help or healing is required. This may take several minutes, and the HS is then asked to explain what they’ve found. Sometimes they will give advice to the client, such as changing their diet, doing more exercise or perhaps seeing a therapist. Whatever condition the HS identifies, the practitioner will request healing. The HS rarely refuses this (although there may need to be an agreement that the client will also do their part, so it becomes teamwork), and the healing may be given instantly or it may be done over a period of time. If done immediately, the client often experiences some movement in the body or a shift in energy whilst it’s happening.

Would it be beneficial to have further sessions?

Clients always find it helpful to get an answer from their Higher Self to this question, rather than being left to figure it out for themselves. If the HS indicates that further sessions are needed, the practitioner may also ask for an approximate date for the next one.

How long does it take to feel the benefits of the session?

For some people, the benefits can be felt very quickly, particularly if they have suffered from a specific fear or phobia. Some clients get very fast pain relief or a sense that the block has been cleared, and they can start to move forward in their desired direction.

For other people, the benefits may be quite slow and gentle, and they don’t always recognise the changes that have occurred because they happen organically.

Did you even shut your finger in the door? If you did, then you’ll know it swelled up and throbbed painfully for days, and you were constantly aware of it. Then it got better, but you barely noticed it because you just got on with your life, until a friend said, ‘How’s your finger now? Is it healed?’ You looked surprised and checked your finger… ‘Oh that, yes, it’s all fine now.’

So it is with QHHT, which is why most practitioners will encourage their clients to ‘keep noticing’ anything that has changed or shifted, however small. Whether the changes are fast or slow, big or small, there is little doubt that QHHT sessions are a beautiful way to resolve issues, both mental and physical, with the added benefit of moving you forward along your Life Path.
