About me
Sometimes life feels heavy, confusing, or out of balance - and that’s where supportive, gentle change can begin.
I am a hypnotherapist and the founder of Not Like Other Therapy, offering a calm, confidential space for adults who would like to feel more balanced, confident, and supported in their personal growth. I believe in meeting people with kindness and understanding, creating an environment where clients feel safe, heard, and accepted.
I believe in the power of our mind and in how gentle shifts in thinking can create meaningful, positive change over time. Every person is different, which is why I take a personalised, client‑centred approach, shaping each session around your individual needs, goals, and pace.
Sessions may include hypnotherapy, Neuro‑Linguistic Programming (NLP), coaching techniques, and therapeutic conversation, depending on what feels most helpful for you. Hypnotherapy is used as a relaxed and focused state where many people find it easier to reflect, gain insight into unhelpful patterns, and begin developing more supportive ways of thinking and responding.I work collaboratively and gently, always at a pace that feels comfortable. My role is to support and guide you, helping you build awareness, confidence, and practical tools that can be used both during and beyond our sessions.
Clients often seek support with:
- Self‑esteem and confidence
- Stress and anxiety management
- Fears and phobias
- Unhelpful habits or patterns
- Emotional wellbeing and resilience
- Personal development and mindset change
(I do not diagnose or treat medical conditions. Hypnotherapy is offered as a complementary approach to wellbeing, and clients are encouraged to seek appropriate medical or psychological support where needed).

Frequently Asked Questions:
I feel anxious about starting therapy — is that normal?
Yes. Many people feel unsure or nervous before their first session, especially when experiencing anxiety or overwhelm. Sessions are designed to feel calm, supportive and unpressured, allowing you to settle at your own pace.
Will I have to talk about things I’m not ready to share?
No. You are always in control. You can share as much or as little as feels comfortable. Some clients prefer privacy and focus on the therapeutic process itself, without discussing personal details — this is always respected.
What happens during a session?
Sessions take place in a warm, calm and confidential environment. They are gently tailored to your individual aims and may include hypnotherapy, NLP or EFT, depending on what best supports you. I work in a kind, non‑judgmental and supportive way, with clear communication throughout.
Will I be aware and in control during hypnotherapy?
Yes. You remain fully aware and in control at all times. Hypnotherapy is a collaborative process, and nothing is done without your consent or understanding.
How long are sessions and how many will I need?
Sessions typically last around 60 minutes. The number of sessions varies depending on your personal goals and circumstances, and this can be discussed openly as we go, with no pressure to commit.
Is this suitable if I feel overwhelmed or emotionally sensitive?
Absolutely. The approach I use is gentle, paced and supportive, particularly suited to those experiencing anxiety, overwhelm or emotional imbalance. Sessions are adapted to how you’re feeling on the day.
What if I’m not sure if this is right for me?
That’s completely okay. Change doesn’t have to be overwhelming — sometimes it begins with feeling supported, safe and understood. You’re welcome to explore whether this feels like the right approach for you.
