Sophia Steeden - Hypnotherapist & Life Coach
My interest in Hypnotherapy and other alternative therapies such as N.L.P. (neuro linguistic programming), EMDR and Life Coaching, began many years ago when I developed a condition called Dystonia Spasmodic Torticollis. In very simple terms, the brain sends a continual message to a couple of muscle groups in my neck instructing them to turn right. As a Personal Assistant at the time, I found it more and more uncomfortable and painful to sit and work at a computer, and eventually resigned. Treatment works well at keeping this condition at a comfortable level now, but relaxation is very important too. As I had given up smoking with the help of Hypnotherapy, I wondered if it would help with relaxation and pain relief – it did. That was the turning point in my life and I retrained as a Hypnotherapist.
I gained the prestigious Hypnotherapy Practitioners Diploma (HPD), accredited by the National Hypnotherapy Council, and took additional certificates in N.L.P. and Stress Management, and since then have done further CPD (Continual Professional Development) courses in other areas such as EMDR, Life Coaching and have recently become a stress management trainer, running my own workshops for corporate organisations.
I find my job very satisfying, to be able to help others in achieving their goals from stop smoking, losing weight to boosting confidence/self-esteem and general motivation, to name but a few, all helps me to feel very positive about my future too.
I feel very passionately that we can all help ourselves quite easily, by taking time to stop and listen to what is going on in our mind and also taking control of our thoughts. After all, 'you are what you think', so if you think positively about yourself and the things and people around you it stands to reason that you will feel positive. On the flip side, if you think negatively then the reverse will happen and unhelpful patterns will surface in our behaviour. Sometimes it just takes a little help to achieve positive goals, and that’s where I come in!
Please contact me for a free, no obligation consultation to discuss your particular concern. The list is endless but just a few of the areas that can easily and effectively be treated are: blushing, weight loss, smoking, sports performance, low self-esteem, low self-confidence, IBS, exam nerves, public speaking, phobias, anxiety, natural childbirth... I can also help you to work through past traumas and stresses, which will enable you to move forward in to a bright new future.

Information about health conditions (*)
Hypnotherapy can enhance the well-being of individuals diagnosed with serious medical conditions, but should not take the place of medical treatment and advice. If you have been diagnosed with - or suspect you may have - any of these conditions, please speak to your doctor before starting hypnotherapy.

It is important for you to know how I can help you before you decide to go ahead, and I therefore offer a free initial consultation. There is no obligation for you to book a session for further treatment. Over 15 minutes or so, we can talk about what you are seeking help for, and how hypnotherapy, NLP and Life Coaching would be able to help. Most of all, it gives you an opportunity to meet with me and decide whether I am the right person for you. I always allow time after the consultation to go into a first session if you wish to proceed. However, as stated above there is no obligation to do this if you do not wish.
Sessions are approximately 60 minutes and usually a week apart. The number of sessions required can vary according to each individual and what we are working to achieve, but in most cases a course of three sessions is all that is necessary. The first three sessions are charged at £180 payable at the first meeting, which includes a discount of £15, as a normal one off session costs £65. Visit my website for full list of therapies used, treatments and fees.
I am based in Whitchurch, Hampshire RG28 7LP, and easily accessible by car from Andover, Winchester, Newbury, Basingstoke and all surrounding towns/villages. There is easy access to parking outside the practice or very close by.
