About me

I am a qualified hypnotherapist, I use a combination of evidence-based hypnotherapy, CBT (cognitive behavioural therapy), and mindfulness to support you in changing the way you think, feel and behave.

I specialise in stress and anxieties that affect, relationships, performance and mental health. I love helping people to take back control of their lives, so they can wake up feeling energised every day and be able to focus on their ambitions without feeling overwhelmed by the day ahead. If there's anything that you feel is holding you back please do get in touch for a free consultation to see how I can help.

The approach I use is evidence-based and collaborative. We will focus on the here and now rather than on the past. We work together to gain an understanding of what is causing your stress, anxiety or worries to help define your goals. We will develop a fast and effective plan together that will help you to break your current cycle enabling you to thrive. During our time together I will teach you proven tools and techniques that give you the confidence to manage future stresses and anxieties so that you can fulfil your full potential without the worry.

One of the most important elements in hypnotherapy is that you feel comfortable working with me. Recent clients describe me as open, professional, trusting and easy to talk to.  If you would like to have a chat over the phone before you make a decision, feel free to contact me here so that you can get a feel for whether you'd be comfortable working with me, and I can check that my approach will be suitable to help you to achieve your goals.

Training, qualifications & experience

Rachel Bernard Dip. CBH BA(Hons) PGCE

I’m a fully qualified cognitive behavioural hypnotherapist. I was a teacher for 25 years and senior leader for some of those years working in primary schools in Buckinghamshire. Because of this I love working with children as well as adults as I understand 'their language'.  As well as hypnotherapy sessions one to one, I run workshops in the workplace for anxiety and stress management.

I have a Diploma in Cognitive Behavioural Hypnotherapy from the UK College of Hypnosis and Hypnotherapy. I also have Postgraduate Certificate in Education from Oxford Brookes University.

I’m registered with the General Hypnotherapy Register (GHR) and am bound to their stringent Codes of Ethics.

The General Hypnotherapy Register (GHR)

Hypnotherapists may become members of the General Hypnotherapy Register if they satisfy certain criteria with regard to both training and ongoing requirements as determined from time to time by the General Hypnotherapy Standards Council (GHSC).

Members are either registered at Practitioner status (which confirms that the GHR acknowledges their qualification to practice), or Affiliate status. Although Affiliate level registrants will have completed a sufficient number of training hours to equip them to commence seeing clients on a limited basis, the GHR does not acknowledge them to have yet been trained to full practitioner level.

All GHR Registered Practitioners are required to accept the published Code of Ethics and Complaints & Disciplinary Procedure.

My Mission

I am passionate about passing on skills and techniques to help people to be able to help themselves to enable them to flourish. I provide a cosy space where you will feel comfortable to talk or we can meet via video call if this is more convenient. My aim is to work with you so you quickly become your own therapist!

My story

I worked for over 25 years in education, so I understand the demands of a stressful job and how it can start to impact other areas of life, such as relationships, performance and mental health. I am married and have 4 children. I also understand the impact neurodiversity can have on family life as my husband and daughter have both been diagnosed with ADHD and my other daughter with ASD. As someone who has suffered with stress in the past through a demanding job and juggling a busy family, I know just how helpful hypnotherapy, CBT and mindfulness can be.

You are not alone and there is effective, fast and affordable help here for you. Contact me to see how I can help you.
