About me
Are you finding you've lost focus or spark?
Maybe you’re usually capable, confident and resilient, but for a while now you've been struggling with anxiety, overwhelm, low confidence or a mind that simply won’t switch off.
Alternatively, you might have a skill or talent, but nerves get the better of you and you know you could achieve so much more.
You may have already tried talking therapy, counselling, coaching or other approaches, but still feel that you’re stuck in the same patterns. You might understand why you feel the way you do, but knowing why hasn’t necessarily made it easier to change. Or you might be at a loss to know why you feel like you do and that makes you worry that things can't get better.
This is where Solution Focused Hypnotherapy can offer a different approach.
I work with people who want to feel calmer, more confident and more in control of their lives. My approach is practical, forward-focused and grounded in an understanding of how the brain works. Rather than spending lots of time going over difficult experiences from the past, we focus on where you are now, where you want to be and what you can do to start moving towards that.
Hypnotherapy isn't about losing control, being made to do anything against your will or anything “woo-woo”. You remain completely in control throughout. I’ll help you understand what is happening in your brain and give you practical tools that you can use between sessions too. I'll also give you an audio track to use between sessions to help you make the most amount of progress in the shortest amount of time.
I believe that you are the expert in your own life. My role isn't to “fix” you, but to give you the knowledge, support and techniques to help you make the changes you want to make. 8-12 weekly sessions are often enough to help you recognise yourself again, and regain the confidence you've been missing. I offer sessions both online and face to face so you can choose the approach that best suits you and your life.
I have a particular interest in helping women who are high-functioning but feel anxious, overwhelmed or emotionally stretched - women who are still getting everything done but know that life shouldn't feel this hard. And with a recent ADHD diagnosis myself, I understand the particular challenges that midlife can bring.
I also bring more than a decade of working with teens to my practice, and really enjoy helping young people find confidence, make the most of their talents and achieve their goals.
Whether you're struggling with anxiety, low confidence, overthinking, stress, poor sleep or low mood, you don't have to wait until you're at breaking point before asking for support. The work we do can also help with weight management, irritable bowel syndrome, obsessive tendencies, chronic pain and phobias.
If you’re curious about whether Solution Focused Hypnotherapy could help you, I’d love to hear from you. We can have an informal conversation about what you're experiencing and whether my approach feels right for you.
There is no better time to get in touch. Start your journey to your preferred future by taking that first step. You'll be so glad you did.

Member organisations
school Registered / Accredited
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.
The CNHC encompasses many types of alternative therapy, including hypnotherapy. In order to be admitted to the register a practitioner must have studied to the National Occupational Standards for that profession/discipline, or have reached the equivalent of the National Occupational Standards through other relevant training or at least three years of experience and been assessed by their peers. A practitioner must also have professional insurance and agree to abide by the CNHC Code of Conduct, Performance and Ethics.
The National Council for Hypnotherapy holds one of the largest registers of independent Hypnotherapists in the United Kingdom and strives to maintain the highest standards among its members. There is an agreed Code of Conduct, an established Complaints & Disciplinary Procedure and all members are obliged to maintain comprehensive Public Liability & Professional Indemnity Insurance, maintain regular CPD (continuing professional development) hours, and attend Supervision when needed.
The Association for Solution Focused Hypnotherapy (AfSFH) was set up to provide information about a modern form of Hypnotherapy and its associated benefits to members of the public. The main aim of the AfSFH is to spread awareness of the benefits of Solution Focused Hypnotherapy. Its secondary aim is to support Hypnotherapists in their businesses by encouraging good practice and self-care.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

"I don't think I can sing Naomi's praises enough. My initial contact with Naomi from Refocus You Hypnotherapy was because I was really struggling with nerves when I entered a competition or completed a test, to the point it was interfering with my results. But somehow along the way with Naomi's guidance, we refocused my mental health too. Naomi explains how certain things work in the brain, the effect it has on us and why it has those effects. It helped me to understand what was going on and how I could start to change how I viewed things. You do have to put in the work yourself, but with Naomi's guidance this is not a difficult task. Thank you so much Naomi, I haven't felt this good for many years."
