About me
If you've ended up here, the chances are something has been bothering you for a while and you've been getting on with it as best you can, hoping it would sort itself out or that you'd eventually find the right moment to do something about it. Most people do exactly that for longer than they probably should.
I'm Liz and I've been working as a Quest Cognitive Hypnotherapist for over twenty years, most recently from my practice in Langold, on the Nottingham and South Yorkshire border. I work with people from across the local area including Worksop, Retford, Doncaster, Sheffield and everywhere in between both in person and online for those who prefer it or can't easily get to me.
The people I see are al sorts. Some are dealing with something specific that's been holding them back for years. Some have had a difficult time recently and haven't qiite bounced back the way they expected to. Some just know something feels off and they can't quite put a finger on what it is or why. What most of them have in common is that they've spent quite a long time trying to manage it on their own before getting in touch, which is completely understandable and also means that by the time we meet, they're usually ready to do something about it.
My approach is practical and straightforward. I trained with the Quest Institute, which means I use Cognitive Hypnotherapy alongside a range of other approaches depending on what's more useful for the person in front of me. Its nothing like stage hypnosis and nothing like what most people imagine when they hear the word hypnotherapy. There's no swinging pendulum, no being put into a trance and told what to think or do, no sitting in silence being asked how everything makes you feel. It's a proper conversation, and the work we do together is grounded in how your mind actually works rather than how we'd like it to work in theory.
I understand the pressures that come with ordinary life, whether that's work, family, health, money or jest the general weight of keeping everything ticking over. You don't have to be in a crisis to benefit from this kind of support and you don't have to be in crisis to benefit from this kind of support and you don't have to have a neat explanation for why you're not quite yourself. You just have to be at the point where you're ready to do something different.
I'm really looking forward to having that conversation with you and seeing just what your future self will be like when we work together.
Sessions are available in person and online. If you'd like to have a chat before committing to anything, I'm happy to do that. There's no pressure and no obligation, just straightforward conversation about what's going on and whether I'm the right person to help you.

I had a very long and active career within the charity and social enterprise world with extensive experience in education and health. I worked as a director and development worker before becoming a freelance trainer and management consultant. Eventually, I combined all these aspects with qualifications as a QCT Practitioner and NLP Master Practitioner into Thinking Room.
Through Thinking Room, I can work with individuals and business by offering a range of one to one and group solutions to very many health and wellbeing issues many of us face.
I ran my business Kingston Upon Thames covering London and the South East before moving to Scotland in 2007. I’ve recently moved again and am now based in the middle of the country. I still work with new and long standing clients in London and Scotland via Skype and Zoom as well as those from other parts of the UK and further afield.
I really enjoy working in partnership with others and have rolled out resilience and thinking skills courses in collaboration with some of the UK largest employers to schools, colleges and universities throughout the UK. I continue to work as a director for a social enterprise and volunteer whenever I can.
