Hi, I'm Laura

I'm an experienced Solution Focused Hypnotherapist and Mental Health Professional with a background in Mental Health Nursing.

If you're struggling with anxiety, stress, low mood, trauma, a phobia, or simply feel like you've lost confidence or become stuck, you're not alone. Life can sometimes feel overwhelming, but with the right support, change is possible.
My aim is to help you feel calmer, more in control and better able to cope with life's challenges, so you can move forward with greater confidence and resilience.

How I can help with anxiety
Many of the people I work with experience anxiety, often alongside other challenges such as stress, low confidence, trauma or phobias.

Anxiety can affect every part of your life. You may find yourself constantly overthinking, imagining the worst, or feeling on edge even when there's no obvious reason why.

Perhaps you struggle to switch off, avoid situations that once felt manageable, find it difficult to sleep, or feel exhausted by the constant cycle of worry.

Living with anxiety can be exhausting, but it doesn't have to stay this way.

Solution Focused Hypnotherapy helps you focus on where you want to be rather than what's keeping you stuck. Together, we'll work towards reducing the impact anxiety has on your life, helping you feel calmer, think more clearly and regain confidence in yourself. The aim isn't simply to manage anxiety, but to help you build the life you want to live.

My background and approach
My background in Mental Health Nursing has given me experience working across a wide range of services, including adult mental health, child and adolescent mental health, drug and alcohol rehabilitation, and eating disorder services. This has given me a deep understanding of the challenges people can face and the importance of providing compassionate, personalised support.

Building on this experience, I trained as a Solution Focused Hypnotherapist. My approach focuses on how the brain works and how it can change. Rather than focusing on what has gone wrong, we work together towards the changes you would like to make and a more positive future.

Alongside Solution Focused Hypnotherapy, I also offer Solution Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) and the Rewind Technique, an evidence-informed approach that can be highly effective in helping people recover from trauma and PTSD.

The National Council for Hypnotherapy holds one of the largest registers of independent Hypnotherapists in the United Kingdom and strives to maintain the highest standards among its members. There is an agreed Code of Conduct, an established Complaints & Disciplinary Procedure and all members are obliged to maintain comprehensive Public Liability & Professional Indemnity Insurance, maintain regular CPD (continuing professional development) hours, and attend Supervision when needed.
