About me

Whether you are working with me online or in person, you'll enter a relaxed, supportive space where you can make decisions about what you want in life - and get help in getting there.  Whatever the problem, I'll guide you through a recovery journey that feels safe, supportive and empowering.

Hypnosis is an incredibly powerful tool on its own but, as a Solution Focused Hypnotherapist, I combine it with talking therapy to bring about lasting results. Many clients seek help when their mind is feeling cluttered and confused - this makes it hard for them to concentrate or focus.  This kind of thinking saps your energy too. Whatever you need solving, my sessions are focused on exploring what you really need to be happy and finding the solutions that will take you there.

Whilst therapy sounds like a lot of hard work, my clients are often surprised by how much they enjoy their sessions.  They are amazed at how simple it is to find a more positive mindset in a relatively short amount of time.  The methods I use are underpinned by neuroscience (what scientists know about the brain and its workings) and have been evaluated over many years. They are designed to take the effort out of: finding direction, unlocking potential, making positive change and solving problems and obstacles.

We start with an initial consultation where you will learn how the brain works, and you are then provided with a hypnosis MP3 to listen to every night. Future sessions focus on emptying your "stress bucket", problem solving, and soothing hypnosis. This type of therapy is not a magic wand, and it does require engagement, but compared to other types of therapy it is relaxing and pleasant. I recommend booking a free initial phone call so that you can find out if I am the right therapist for you and ask any questions before deciding.

Training, qualifications & experience

I graduated from the Clifton Practice Hypnotherapy Training School (CPHT) Edinburgh in June 2024.  I chose to train as a Solution Focused hypnotherapist because it is widely acknowledged as the "gold standard" and most modern approach.  CPHT is an internationally renowned training school and was in fact founded by David Newton - the person who developed Solution Focused Hypnotherapy in the 1980's.  I hold the Diploma in Solution Focused Hypnotherapy (DSFH).

I am proud to adhere to the Code of Conduct and Ethical Practice (COE) of the National Council for Hypnotherapy (NCH) and uphold standards.  I also hold membership with the Association for Solution Focused Hypnotherapists (AfSFH) and adhere to their strict code of conduct, Performance and Ethics.

Association for Solution Focused Hypnotherapy (AfSFH)

The Association for Solution Focused Hypnotherapy (AfSFH) was set up to provide information about a modern form of Hypnotherapy and its associated benefits to members of the public. The main aim of the AfSFH is to spread awareness of the benefits of Solution Focused Hypnotherapy. Its secondary aim is to support Hypnotherapists in their businesses by encouraging good practice and self-care.
