About me
Starting therapy can be pretty scary, but once you start to see and feel the results in your life, taking that first step could be the best thing you've ever done.
It might be your first time doing any kind of self reflection, or perhaps you've already tried many different approaches on your healing journey.
Wherever you are, hypnotherapy is a lovely gentle way to effectively resolve trauma and bring lasting, positive change into your life.
I discovered the power of hypnosis during my own healing journey, and have seen the dramatic effects it can have on creating a happier, more fulfilled existance.
I am an Analytical hypnotherapist, which uses a powerful combination of psychoanalysis with hypnosis. It's a process of self-investigation which aims to resolve problems at the root. It's amazing to discover how sometimes seemingly trivial little events can snowball into bigger issues later on.
I like to use a combination of different techniques depending on what feels appropriate in the moment. Some people are quite literal and like to deal with things head on, whereas others might like to take a more symbolic route and work metaphorically. This flexibility allows me to work with deeply rooted trauma and yet still maintain a gentle approach.
Some of the issues hypnotherapy can help with include:
Anxiety and panic attacks
Depression
Trauma
Addiction
Stress
Sleep disorders
Weight management
Sexual abuse
Confidence
GriefEating disorders
Childhood abuse/neglect
OCD
Anger issues
Birth trauma
Hypnobirthing
PTSD
And many more.
So what happens in a hypnotherapy session?
The hypnotic trance is a natural and safe state to be in - a bit like a guided meditation. You are fully in control and awake at all points. You may open your eyes (if you choose to have them closed) at any point, although most people choose to have them closed so that it is easier to visualise. You will remember everything afterwards.
The first session is very gentle and a chance for me to get to know a bit about you and understand what has gone on to contribute to your issue. Towards the end of the session there will be a short relaxation to let you experience the hypnotic trance state - it can be a very relaxing & enjoyable experience.

Member organisations
Hypnotherapists may become members of the General Hypnotherapy Register if they satisfy certain criteria with regard to both training and ongoing requirements as determined from time to time by the General Hypnotherapy Standards Council (GHSC). Members are either registered at Practitioner status (which confirms that the GHR acknowledges their qualification to practice), or Affiliate status. Although Affiliate level registrants will have completed a sufficient number of training hours to equip them to commence seeing clients on a limited basis, the GHR does not acknowledge them to have yet been trained to full practitioner level. All GHR Registered Practitioners are required to accept the published Code of Ethics and Complaints & Disciplinary Procedure.

Further information
I work with clients face to face from the Practice Rooms in Bristol in Clifton Village ( Regent Street). The rooms all have a lovely, inviting atmosphere and cosy feel to them, allowing a safe, calm environment to work from.
I also work online so you can stay in the comfort of your own home, all you need is a private space where you won't be disturbed for the session, access to the internet and a speaker/headphones so that we can hear one another. It may seem a bit strange at first but online therapy is just as effective as traditional, inperson methods and removes geographical and transportational constraints.
