About me

Starting therapy can be pretty daunting, but once you start to see and feel the results in your life, taking that first step could be the best decision you've ever made. It might be your first time doing any kind of self development or perhaps you've already tried many different approaches on your healing jorney. Wherever you are, hypnotherapy is a lovely gentle way to effectively resolve trauma and bring lasting, positive change into your life.

I am an Analytical hypnotherapist, which uses a powerful combination of psychoanalysis with hypnosis. It's a process of self-investigation which aims to resolve problems at their root cause - it's amazing to discover how sometimes seemingly trivial little events can snowball into bigger issues later on.

All sessions are unscripted and tailored to you, making your therapy as unique as you are.

I have a design background and I love to experiment and create things. I think this lends itself well to hypnotherapy as it is such a creative form of healing and varies so much from session to session.

I have a particular interest in addiction therapy, anxiety, PTSD and past life-regression. I like to use a combination of different techniques depending on the client and at what stage they are in their journey. Some people are quite literal and like to deal with things head on, whereas others might like to take a more symbolic route and use more metaphor. This allows me to work with deeply rooted trauma and yet still maintain a gentle approach.

Some of the issues hypnotherapy can help with:
Anxiety and panic attacks
Depression
Trauma
Addiction
Phobias
Stress
Sleep disorders
Weight management
Sexual abuse
Confidence
Grief
Eating disorders
Childhood abuse/neglect
OCD
Anger issues
PTSD

And many more.

So what happens in a hypnotherapy session? Will you be out of control?

The hypnotic trance is a natural and safe state to be in - a bit like a guided meditation. You are fully in control and awake at all points and may open your eyes (if you choose to have them closed) at any point. You will remember everything afterwards.

The first session is very gentle and a chance for me to get to know a bit about you and your background as well to begin building that client/therapist relationship. Towards the end of the session there will be a short relaxation to give you a taste of what the hypnotic state is like - it can be a very relaxing & enjoyable experience.

If you would like to get in touch to arrange a session, give me a message and we can arrange for a chat to discuss your requirements and answer any questions.

I trained with Jacqueline Morison Hypnotherapy Training and have a Diploma in Analytical Hypnotherapy & Psychotherapy.

I have experience working with a wide range of ages and backgrounds and have a gentle, patient approach to therapy.

Member organisations

GHR
The General Hypnotherapy Register (GHR)

Hypnotherapists may become members of the General Hypnotherapy Register if they satisfy certain criteria with regard to both training and ongoing requirements as determined from time to time by the General Hypnotherapy Standards Council (GHSC).

Members are either registered at Practitioner status (which confirms that the GHR acknowledges their qualification to practice), or Affiliate status. Although Affiliate level registrants will have completed a sufficient number of training hours to equip them to commence seeing clients on a limited basis, the GHR does not acknowledge them to have yet been trained to full practitioner level.

All GHR Registered Practitioners are required to accept the published Code of Ethics and Complaints & Disciplinary Procedure.

Information about health conditions (*)

Hypnotherapy can enhance the well-being of individuals diagnosed with serious medical conditions, but should not take the place of medical treatment and advice. If you have been diagnosed with - or suspect you may have - any of these conditions, please speak to your doctor before starting hypnotherapy.

Fees

£70.00 per session
Free initial telephone session

Additional information

Free initial telephone/video consultation to have a chat and see whether hypnotherapy is the right course for you (15 minutes).

Sessions are £70 each, the number of sessions required varies from person to person, it depends on how deeply rooted the trauma is and also the pace we work at, so it is hard to predict.  6 sessions are a good place to start to see some lasting change.

Further information

I work with clients face to face from the Practice Rooms in Bristol from their spaces in the centre (Queen Square) and also in Clifton (St Pauls Road) and Clifton Village ( Regent Street). The rooms all have a lovely, inviting atmosphere and cosy feel to them, allowing a safe, calm environment to work from.

I also work online so you can stay in the comfort of your own home, all you need is a private space where you won't be disturbed for the session, access to the internet and a speaker/headphones so that we can hear one another. It may seem a bit strange at first but online therapy is just as effective as traditional, inperson methods and removes geographical and transportational constraints.
