About me

I am a fully qualified and registered Clinical Hypnotherapist and Psychotherapist and have been working with both adults and children across Essex and neighbouring counties for several years. I am continuing to offer online sessions during the pandemic.

I am skilled in Solution Focused Hypnotherapy, a modern approach based on the latest evidence from brain science which compliments my Psychology training. My methods enable clients to work towards a positive future using only forward-looking techniques. There is no exploration or analysis of past trauma or which many clients find this liberating and refreshing.

I offer a discounted one hour initial consultation so that clients can meet me without pressure or obligation to learn more about my methods. At the end of this consultation I always offer my Hypnotherapy audio recording.

I hold the prestigious 'Hypnotherapy Practitioners Diploma' which is recognised by The Open University and seen by industry professionals as 'the gold standard' in Hypnotherapy training. I am also trained in Medical Hypnotherapy, have an Honours Degree in Psychology and a Masters Degree in Occupational Psychology. Currently I am studying for The Advanced Hypnotherapy Diploma- the highest recognised qualification in the industry.

I am a full registered member of the Association for Solution Focused Hypnotherapy and The National Board for Modern Psychotherapy. I keep my approaches up to date by participating in regular Continuing Professional Development activities and training.

What does it feel like to be hypnotized?
Many clients are curious about Hypnosis before they begin sessions. For most, trance will feel like a state of very deep relaxation. For others, it resembles daydreaming. Some people describe their experience as feeling like they have had ‘a lovely massage’. The key point is that people react as differently to trance as they do to other life experiences. The common factor being that all clients refer to Hypnosis as deeply relaxing and pleasant.

How many sessions will I need?
Session number depends greatly on the nature of the issue and commitment to therapy. As a guide, most people stop smoking after one session, phobias around 4. Anxiety, behaviour change and performance and other more general issues can require many more sessions. Session number will be discussed fully in your Initial Consultation so that you know what to expect.

If you are still unsure, why not book in for a no-obligation consultation.

Weight Management
"Over the years I had developed several negative behaviours associated around food and weight that seemed impossible to change. I have been successful in weight loss in the past using “diets” but as the weight kept piling back on it was clear that there was a deeper problem that needed to be addressed. I contacted Elizabeth who was happy to see me and discuss how hypnosis could help me, as I have had no experience in hypnotherapy I was nervous and wasn’t sure what to expect.

On our first meeting Elizabeth spent a long time listening to me explaining my issues without judgement and was sure that she could help me overcome and learn to control my bad habits, there was no need for me to be nervous as I was completely at ease. After several sessions with Elizabeth and completing homework my whole relationship with food has changed and I feel completely in control for once in my life. I can’t thank Elizabeth enough for all her help and support and I would recommend her to anyone". (Leanne, Bishops Stortford)

Fear of Heights
"I thought I would let you know how my skiing trip went .....it was fantastic, I cannot believe how much hypnotherapy has helped me with my fear of heights. My family is amazed and I am very proud of my transformation - I happily got on chairlifts alone, looking out and enjoying the scenery, standing on a mountain 2500 meters high and launching myself down on a pair of skis without a second thought. You were right, I feel totally liberated and I am currently looking to book next years skiing trip. I cannot thank you enough!" (Clare, Near Stansted)

Trouble Sleeping
"I used to have trouble dropping off to sleep and found myself waking during the night several times. Consequently I was exhausted most of the time which made it difficult for me to concentrate and perform well at work. I  also seemed to be irritable around the kids. I was sceptical about Hypnotherapy at first but sessions with Elizabeth and the relaxation recording she gave me really helped to normalise my sleep. Its now not a problem for me anymore. I can't thank her enough!" (Steve, Thaxted).

Needle Phobia (Trypanophobia)
"I have just had my blood test, no problem at all. Thank you so much, you have changed my life" (Amy, Great Dunmow).

Stop Smoking
"You'll be pleased to hear that I haven't smoked since our session and haven't found it hard at all. Every time I think of a cigarette I almost immediately think 'but I don't smoke anymore'. I have also not felt so positive in a very long time" (Betty, Stansted).
