About me

Do you ever find yourself lying awake at night, asking “Is this it? Is this all there is for me now?” Maybe your children have grown up and don’t need you in the same way, leaving you with time and space you don’t quite know how to fill. Perhaps you’ve poured so much of yourself into looking after others that you’re now wondering who you really are, what you stand for, and what comes next.

It could be that you’re juggling even more - supporting an elderly parent through illness, facing retirement, experiencing the end of a relationship, or children leaving home. Or perhaps life just feels different, and you don’t know why. For some women, it shows up as anxiety, self-doubt, a lack of confidence, or sometimes just feeling down. For others, it’s feeling stuck, unmotivated, or questioning themselves even when life looks “fine” from the outside. You may find yourself turning to food, drink, or habits you’d rather not have, just to cope with the emptiness or uncertainty.

You might also be supporting children or young people who are struggling with anxiety, confidence, or school, college or university stress - and wondering how to help them when you don’t always feel steady yourself.

You don’t have to stay stuck in this cycle of worry, low confidence, or feeling like something is missing. Hypnotherapy can help you feel calmer inside, sleep more easily, and stop the constant overthinking. It can give you back a sense of confidence and motivation, so you can enjoy life again and feel more like yourself.

I also work with children and teenagers, helping them to feel less anxious, more confident and better able to cope with school and the pressures of growing up.

Training, qualifications & experience

I came into Hypnotherapy after my own career change later in life, so I understand what it feels like to start again and to wonder if you’re “enough”. My training is accredited by the National Hypnotherapy Society, and I’m fully insured. I’m also a qualified counsellor, which means I can support you in more than one way - whether that’s working through difficult feelings, changing unhelpful habits, or finding the confidence to take a new step.

I also hold a degree in Child and Youth Studies and have worked for many years in schools, as well as directly with young people and their parents. This has included supporting those with learning disabilities, neurodiversity and young people exploring their gender identity. These experiences give me a deep understanding of the pressures children and families face, and the importance of offering support that feels respectful, safe, and practical.

Alongside my qualifications, I bring my life experience as a mum, a woman who “went back to school”, and someone who has navigated family changes, grown-up children, and fresh starts. I also understand the challenges of the menopause, and I support a parent living with dementia, so I know first-hand how demanding and emotional these life stages can be. Clients often tell me this helps them feel I get where they are coming from.

Further information

People often wonder what Hypnotherapy will actually be like. It isn’t about losing control or being “put under”, and you won’t tell me all your secrets, it’s a gentle, focused state of relaxation where your mind is more open to positive suggestions. You’ll be fully aware, comfortable, and in control throughout.

Every session is tailored to you. Some people come with a clear goal, for example, to feel calmer, to stop a habit, or to prepare for a new challenge. Others come because they simply feel stuck, low, or unsettled and don’t know where to begin. We start from where you are, and work together step by step.

Clients often tell me they leave sessions feeling lighter, calmer, relaxed and more hopeful. Over time, they notice they’re worrying less, sleeping better, and feeling more able to cope. Many describe getting their confidence back, finding motivation again, and feeling like themselves after a long time of being lost in other people’s needs.

I offer sessions from my home studio in Kinross, online, or in clients homes, depending on what feels easiest and most comfortable for you.
