About me
Hello, I’m Denise, I am a clinical hypnotherapist based in Perth, Scotland. As an empathetic, caring, trauma informed hypnotherapist, I provide a welcoming, comfortable safe space for my clients. Together we explore, for example social, emotional, physical, and behavioral aspects to gain more insight to what is holding them back. Then, with tailored hypnotherapy, will assist them to make positive change to enhance their well-being.
I also have a background working in social services and as a nurse. During my time in Social Services I worked both in Early Years, with children under 5 years old, and their parents or carers and with Older People, supporting them to be as independent as possible. My nursing career of almost 30 years, has been School Nursing, working with children and families and as Sexual and Reproductive Health Nurse Specialist. Over the years this has given me much experience and insight in to issues that impact a person’s life. I have experience working with and supporting children and young adults in the neuro-diverse community, both in my personal and professional lives.
I have qualifications of Hypnotherapy Practitioner Diploma, (HPD),a Diploma in Clinical and Advanced Hypnosis, (Dip CAH), and Neuro-Linguistic Programming, (PNLP). This has provided me with various techniques such as Social Focused hypnotherapy, Ericksonian hypnosis, Cognitive Behavioural therapy, which enables me to work with clients, providing an individualised person-centred approach to best meet an individual’s needs. I have also attended a CPD workshop on Working with Children and Families.
I am registered with the National Council of Hypnotherapy, (NCH) and with the Complimentary and National Healthcare Council, (CHNC). These governing bodies ensure I adhere to the highest standards of professional and ethical practices.

Member organisations
The National Council for Hypnotherapy holds one of the largest registers of independent Hypnotherapists in the United Kingdom and strives to maintain the highest standards among its members. There is an agreed Code of Conduct, an established Complaints & Disciplinary Procedure and all members are obliged to maintain comprehensive Public Liability & Professional Indemnity Insurance, maintain regular CPD (continuing professional development) hours, and attend Supervision when needed.
