About me

I am a highly experienced and senior (SQHP) Hypnotherapist, Psychotherapist and Supervisor and over the last 10 years, I have been specialising in helping people like you with issues such as anxiety and stress, trauma, past life regression, weight loss, hypnobirthing and fear of flying.

I have been in private practice for the last decade offering in-person appointments and online support to clients across the UK, and internationally across the world.

I am also trained in psychotherapy and a range of mind/body holistic therapies including EMDR, Emotional Freedom Therapy (EFT), Crystal Healing therapy and Reiki Healing. Therapy solutions are tailor-made to help you release, rebalance and resolve your issues or symptoms.

Helping you to overcome Anxiety and Trauma

I use Analytical Hypnotherapy and Psychotherapy to explore the root cause of emotional distress, anxiety or trauma. I offer clients calm, relaxing and transformational therapy solutions.

What is Hypnotherapy?

Hypnosis is a pleasant state of relaxation that allows the therapist and client to access the subconscious and hidden parts of the personality. The client is always in control and can stop the session when they want. Relaxation and visualisation techniques are used to uncover the originating cause of the distress.

If you have questions or would like to book a session, feel free to call me: 07510 222827 or use the contact form to send me an email.

I worked as a Criminologist for over 30 years, as a consultant in Category A, HM prisons, with long term offenders. I lectured in Criminology and I have also worked with young offenders, their families and victims of crime as a mediator in Restorative Justice Programmes. Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

GHR
The General Hypnotherapy Register (GHR)

Hypnotherapists may become members of the General Hypnotherapy Register if they satisfy certain criteria with regard to both training and ongoing requirements as determined from time to time by the General Hypnotherapy Standards Council (GHSC).

Members are either registered at Practitioner status (which confirms that the GHR acknowledges their qualification to practice), or Affiliate status. Although Affiliate level registrants will have completed a sufficient number of training hours to equip them to commence seeing clients on a limited basis, the GHR does not acknowledge them to have yet been trained to full practitioner level.

All GHR Registered Practitioners are required to accept the published Code of Ethics and Complaints & Disciplinary Procedure.

CNHC
Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council (CNHC)

The CNHC encompasses many types of alternative therapy, including hypnotherapy.

In order to be admitted to the register a practitioner must have studied to the National Occupational Standards for that profession/discipline, or have reached the equivalent of the National Occupational Standards through other relevant training or at least three years of experience and been assessed by their peers.

A practitioner must also have professional insurance and agree to abide by the CNHC Code of Conduct, Performance and Ethics.

Areas of hypnotherapy I deal with

Information about health conditions (*)

Hypnotherapy can enhance the well-being of individuals diagnosed with serious medical conditions, but should not take the place of medical treatment and advice. If you have been diagnosed with - or suspect you may have - any of these conditions, please speak to your doctor before starting hypnotherapy.

Other areas of hypnotherapy I deal with

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation Reprocessing) therapy is a form of psychotherapy that is designed to reduce trauma related stress, anxiety and depression. These are symptoms associated with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). EMDR works extremely well with Hypnotherapy, so I am pleased to be able to offer this special combination to my clients.

Evidence based research demonstrates the benefits of EMDR in treating psychological trauma arising from experiences as diverse as war related experiences, childhood abuse or neglect, natural disaster, assault, road traffic accidents, workplace accidents.

Hypnobirthing for pregnancy & childbirth

This is a natural childbirth programme using Hypnosis to eliminate fear & pain from the birthing experience. I am a Practitioner in Hypnobirthing and can now offer expectant Mothers/Fathers/ Birth Partners sessions or workshops in natural childbirth. Using hypnosis techniques to activate the inner power of your mind to achieve a stress free birthing experience.

What happens in the initial session?

The initial session is 1 hour 30 minutes. A detailed case history is taken. This session is primarily concerned with establishing the precise details of the client's condition as well as the important task of defining the exact outcome the client would like to gain from therapy.

I aim to relax my client and establish rapport which is essential for a successful outcome during sessions. At this stage some simple hypnotic relaxation techniques are taught in order to help the client clearly visualise that desired outcome. The session is usually concluded with a brief, deeper trance experience by way of an introduction for those who haven't experienced hypnosis before.

Testimonials

“Ann is a highly skilled therapist. I was so impressed by her flexibility and her great range of skills and knowledge. What also impressed me was that she spent time in researching the best approaches for me between the sessions. I found that this type of therapy gets to the root cause of issues in a completely different way, and much faster than I expected. I know that this therapy has transformed my health and well-being. Issues that have dragged me down for years are now lifted from me and I feel a new freedom as a result." - Maria, Canterbury

"The techniques demonstrated and practised showed real positive results after only 3 sessions, which were very relaxing and informative. Ann is clearly a very highly experienced person in the field of Hypnotherapy, and has a very relaxing manner of working. I would recommend anybody suffering from stress to visit Ann’s clinic." - Robert, Tunbridge Wells

"Therapy with Ann is a safe and nurturing space in which you can discover all the buried fears, or problems for what they really are, and learn to move past them. Ann's vast knowledge and qualifications are both fascinating and extremely helpful to those on a journey. My regular visits to the seaside of Whitstable to visit Ann have brought such joy to my life! Time spent with Ann has been priceless and in turn made such a difference in me that many have noticed and I myself can feel on a daily basis." - Rebecca, London

"The sessions with Ann were deeply relaxing and I felt comfortable and safe in her company. Ann has helped me to examine the underlying root cause of my emotional distress. She was very professional at all times, but also kind and caring. I was able to ’revisit’ traumatic events from my past to release them in a confidential environment. I felt much better and happier as a result." - Donna, Whitstable

“I had smoked 20 cigarettes a day for the past 10 years and finally decided to quit, but needed help. I gave up after just one session of Hypnotherapy with Ann. I felt very comfortable during the session and experienced a deeply relaxing state… I am absolutely delighted and I looking forward to a healthy, cigarette free future!" -
