About me
Hello, I'm Ali, a Clinical Hypnotherapist and Strategic Psychotherapist and founder of Inner Mind Navigator, based in Bexhill-on-Sea, East Sussex.
I provide an integrative, evidence-informed approach to therapy, with a particular focus on supporting people living with chronic pain, IBS, and people seeking to change addictive patterns or behaviour.
I also work with anxiety, stress, grief and loss, obsessive thoughts and compulsive behaviours, smoking cessation, sleep difficulties, fears and phobias, and a range of life's challenges.
People often come to therapy knowing that something needs to change without necessarily knowing exactly where to begin. You don't need to have everything figured out before reaching out.
My approach is collaborative, practical, and individually tailored. Together, we can explore patterns in thoughts, emotions, behaviours and responses that may be contributing to difficulties, while identifying practical strategies and building on the strengths and resources you already have.
I integrate Clinical Hypnotherapy and Strategic Psychotherapy with psychological, cognitive and behavioural approaches. Rather than following a single method or rigid formula, therapeutic strategies are selected according to your individual circumstances, needs and goals.
Depending on what brings you to therapy, our work may involve developing practical strategies, exploring different perspectives and responses, strengthening self-regulation and psychological flexibility, and using therapeutic hypnosis where appropriate.
My aim is to provide a professional, compassionate and respectful space where you can develop greater understanding and work towards changes that are meaningful to you.
Chronic Pain Support
I provide complementary therapeutic support for people living with persistent or chronic pain, focusing on psychological, emotional and behavioural factors that can influence the experience of living with and responding to pain.
Our work may include exploring pain-related thoughts and responses, developing coping and self-regulation strategies, and finding different ways of responding to difficult sensations and the impact persistent pain can have on everyday life.
This support does not diagnose or treat the underlying medical cause of pain and is not a replacement for appropriate medical assessment or treatment.
IBS Support
I provide complementary therapeutic support for people living with IBS, with a focus on psychological and behavioural factors, stress responses, coping and wellbeing alongside appropriate medical care.
Therapeutic approaches are tailored to the individual and may include psychological strategies and therapeutic hypnosis where appropriate.
This service does not replace appropriate medical assessment, diagnosis or treatment. New, unexplained or changing gastrointestinal symptoms should be medically assessed.
Addictive Behaviours
I work with people who would like to understand and change addictive, repetitive or difficult to control patterns of behaviour.
Therapy may involve exploring triggers, learned responses, thoughts, emotions and behavioural cycles associated with the pattern, while developing alternative strategies and ways of responding.
Where someone's needs would be more appropriately supported by specialist medical, psychiatric or addiction services, additional or alternative professional support may be recommended.
Specialist Fear of Flying Support
Alongside my wider therapeutic work, I provide specialist support for fear of flying and aviation-related anxiety.
In addition to being a therapist, I am also a pilot. This enables me to combine therapeutic approaches with practical knowledge of aviation and the experience of flying.
Many people experiencing fear of flying understand logically that air travel is generally safe, yet their mind and body can continue to respond as though there is a threat.
Our work may involve understanding the patterns and responses associated with the fear, developing practical strategies for managing anxiety and building greater confidence around flying. Where helpful, we can also explore aviation-related concerns and develop a more realistic understanding of air travel.
Whether you have an upcoming flight, regularly experience anxiety when flying or have avoided flying for many years, support is tailored to your individual experience and goals.

Member organisations
The CNHC encompasses many types of alternative therapy, including hypnotherapy. In order to be admitted to the register a practitioner must have studied to the National Occupational Standards for that profession/discipline, or have reached the equivalent of the National Occupational Standards through other relevant training or at least three years of experience and been assessed by their peers. A practitioner must also have professional insurance and agree to abide by the CNHC Code of Conduct, Performance and Ethics.
Hypnotherapists may become members of the General Hypnotherapy Register if they satisfy certain criteria with regard to both training and ongoing requirements as determined from time to time by the General Hypnotherapy Standards Council (GHSC). Members are either registered at Practitioner status (which confirms that the GHR acknowledges their qualification to practice), or Affiliate status. Although Affiliate level registrants will have completed a sufficient number of training hours to equip them to commence seeing clients on a limited basis, the GHR does not acknowledge them to have yet been trained to full practitioner level. All GHR Registered Practitioners are required to accept the published Code of Ethics and Complaints & Disciplinary Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
