Hi, I'm Daniel Browne and I am a hypnotherapist, counsellor, psychotherapist and coach, specialising in working with LGBT+ clients and helping therapists to feel more equipped with skills, knowledge and confidence to work with this client group.
LGBT+ affirmative therapy is about having a true understanding of the specific issues and challenges faced by LGBT+ people, knowledge of the barriers that LGBT+ people may face when trying to access therapeutic support, accepting and affirming LGBT+ people's identities, and how to work therapeutically in an affirmative way. It goes beyond being ok with LGBT+ people or being fine working with that client group. It's much more in-depth and in modern times every ethical therapist should be LGBT+ affirmative.

I'm a world authority on this topic, having advised the UK Government on mental health policy for LGBT+ people, in addition to winning numerous awards and being named among the most influential LGBT+ people in the UK for my work supporting LGBT+ people. I've trained over 3,000 therapists around the world so far, helping them to become truly LGBT+ affirmative, and I literally wrote the book on it (How to be an LGBT+ Affirmative Therapist).
