Hypnosis & Weight Loss - The only way it will Work for you
Many people are unhappy with their weight and its a chicken and egg situation. Whether its the unhappiness that is causing the weight gain or the weight gain thatâ€™s causing the unhappiness it doesnâ€™t really matter as long as the underlying problems are dealt with then the weight can be lost and kept off forever.
This is how it works - our brains are quite easily moulded well obviously not by a sculpture but by things that are learnt maybe things that are learnt subconsciously or unconsciously.
There are unlimited sensations for our brains to make sense of and process any one time and because of the brains limited capacity to process this information it usually focuses on information which fits in with what itâ€™s already processed or learnt. Thus strengthening habits, behaviours etc which we already have. Now as a general rule of thumb our brain takes on the behaviours which it has learnt will keep us safe or which comfort us.
So eating can and does become a bad habit often because food is used for celebration, think about, birthdays, Christmas, well anything really includes usually an excess of food. Also often children were given treats or sweets if they behaved. Therefore our brains can come to associate eating with comfort, reward etc. Add on top of that the fact that our stomachs have what amounts to a small nest of nerve endings which are sated by eating then its no wonder that eating can be associated in our brains with comfort etc. However as we all know this comfort is very short lived and often after eating there is guilt, despair, loss of confidence etc. So what happens we pick up that savoury or sweet thing to comfort ourselves. This in turn leads to further loss of confidence, low self esteem etc.
Itâ€™s no use having hypnosis which suggests that you will lose weight etc unless you put something positive in the place of the eating as a coping mechanism , otherwise guess what the weight goes right back on. I know youâ€™ve all done it, lost the weight then put it back on again maybe even several times? So whatâ€™s the solution? Its great if your hypnotherapist also knows about nutrition but you know and I know if youâ€™ve ever been on a diet you probably know exactly which foods your meant to be eating, and what goes were, heck most of my weight loss clients could have written a book about dieting and nutrition. But weight loss using hypnosis isnâ€™t a diet it a life mind and body change and should have positive impact on other areas of your life.
Make sure that when you go to see your hypnotherapist that they include some work on where the original habit came from (their past) and some disassociation from that habit ( their present) plus of course a lifelong positive coping mechanism instead of the eating.
