Alexia Smith, Clinical Hypnotherapist located in Exeter, Tiverton and Crediton. Specialising in weight control and anxiety.

Alexia is a qualified Clinical Hypnotherapist, having gained her Certificate, Diploma and Post-Graduate Practitioner's Diploma from the London College of Hypnosis (LCCH). She has been a member of the British Society of Clinical Hypnosis (BSCH), since 2006 and a member of the General Hypnotherapy Register (GHR) since 2009. She currently runs three private practices in Devon. These are centrally located in Exeter, Tiverton and Crediton. She is also a resident therapist at NuBeginnings, a boutique weight loss boot camp in North Devon.

Alexia works with clients who have a variety of problems including weight, anxiety, phobias, addictions, habits, depression and unresolved issues from the past. In her sessions she combines Clinical Hypnotherapy with techniques from Psychotherapy, Neuro-linguistic Programming (NLP), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy. She is a trained practitioner of EMDR; a ground-breaking technique used in the treatment of Post-traumatic Stress Disorder and has also trained in Fertility Issues with Sjanie Hugo, a fertility expert and author of The Fertile Body Method.

A large proportion of Alexia's work is focused on weight control. She has worked at a Weight Loss Boot Camp since 2008, which she says has given her a wealth of experience in this field. Working with clients from all over the world, from different cultures and backgrounds, she has developed a programme which assists the client to feel back in control of their eating and weight. In 2010, Alexia introduced the Hypno-band to her programme, which uses hypnosis to create a virtual gastric band.

Prior to working as a Hypnotherapist, Alexia studied Psychology at university. After graduating in 1997, she worked for a Community Mental Health Team in Berkshire, an experience she says, "Has given me a greater understanding of the issues surrounding mental illness and the effects on the individual and their families."

25 Gandy Street, Exeter - Close to Central Station and many bus routes. Short-term parking is available nearby at the Harlequin Centre, Guildhall and Mary Arches Street car parks. (Please be aware that the therapy room is situated on the third floor.)

Cedar Court, Lowman Way, Tiverton - Close to the North Devon Link Road and 10 mins from the M5. Free parking available on site. (Please be aware that the therapy room is situated on the first floor.)

Woolsgrove Court, Morchard Road, Crediton - North of Crediton on the A377, Woolsgrove is close to the station at Morchard Road and has a regular bus service. Free parking is available.
