About me

I am a non judgemental Professional Advanced Qualified Hypnotherapist whose aim is to give you a better tomorrow. My experience ranges from the everyday problems of life such as anxiety and stress, to personal issues such as anxiety, panic attacks, addictions, quit smoking, phobias, fear of flying and weight loss.

Anxiety and stress are extremely common problems, and have differing levels of mental and physical interference. In some cases they can have a negative impact on our mental, emotional and physical well-being. A visit to the dentist, driving exam, flying or speech making can make you fearful and tense. Prolonged periods of stress can escalate to panic attacks, OCD, depression and exhaustion.

Anxiety, sometimes known as “fear spread thinly”, does not have to be a lifelong condition. Anxiety is a learnt behavioural response that comes from a fear of what might happen, or could happen next. Depending on the nature of your problem, and using one of two different types of therapy, it is proven that Hypnotherapy can be an extremely effective treatment.

Stress, is the fashionable modern disguise of anxiety. However too much stress can affect your health, well-being, employment, home and social life, with physical symptoms not uncommon. Using either Suggestion Therapy or Analysis, one can identify the problem, and then by understanding and working through, dissipate the negative impact.

Phobia is essentially an extreme form of fear or anxiety that you may have developed due to a particular situation in the past. As a phobia is triggered by the mind, it can be treated by psychological treatments. Whether you are scared of heights, objects or situations; hypnotherapy sessions can de-sensitise your reactions to them. Hypnotherapy for flying and other phobia's is highly effective for people of all age groups.

Testimonials

"As a long term sufferer of OCD & anxiety, I had tried many forms of therapy & counselling over the years, but Sue is the first person that has been able to get to the bottom of my issues & help me deal with them.   I am very grateful for the positive impact Sue has made to my life ... " - Kerry (Google review)

"Sue is a very friendly, kind and understanding lady who made me feel at ease within minutes of meeting her. I did not tell anyone that I was having counselling and was surprised when family etc commented that I seemed more confident and relaxed" - June (Google review)

"We visited Sue after being highly recommended by a family friend. We were not disappointed! Although extremely professional and experienced, Sue is also very approachable and easy to talk to - putting the most nervous person at ease. She is kind and caring but above all listens to your needs before discussing possible therapies. She has definitely changed my life for the better. Thank you Sue. "

Training, qualifications & experience

I have always been fascinated with human behaviour, and gained immense satisfaction and enjoyment working with people. In 1993 I decided that I would like to do voluntary work in the local community, and then with study and training I achieved a Professional Qualification of a Diploma in Counselling In 1999. I then decided to study for a Diploma in Social Work at Anglia Polytechnic University and graduated in 2003, working across both the statutory & voluntary sector until 2007, when I decided on a new career path and decided that working as a Hypnotherapist was the way forward, having seen the benefits that had been gained by clients, family and friends.

I commenced training, to become a professional clinical hypnotherapist / psychotherapist at the Essex Institute of Clinical Hypnotherapy, with one of the UK's leading hypnotherapists and highly respected worldwide author Terence Watt. Qualifying in 2012, I hold the following qualifications, and have set up my own practice in Gidea Park, covering Romford, Hornchurch, Dagenham and surrounding areas.

  • Diploma in Clinical Hypnosis with Psychotherapy
  • Diploma Advanced Hypnoanalysis
  • Diploma in Advance Therapy
  • Registered Symbio Dynamics Consultant
  • Diploma in Psycho-Sexual Disorders
  • Diploma in Counselling
  • Diploma in Social Work

It is imperative that you ensure your consultant therapist is a qualified & registered Hypnotherapist, with a strict code of ethics and professionalism.
